We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Layout Engineer to take a leading role in the layout development of NOV APL’s offshore systems. In this position, you will be responsible for 3D layout modelling, layout coordination, and design reviews across all project phases—from studies and FEEDs to execution projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering groups to ensure optimal system layout, compliance with project requirements, and high-quality deliverables.
This role sits within a growing, experienced design team and is essential in supporting the increasing demand for NOV APL’s offshore loading and mooring technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the layout responsible engineer for assigned projects using E3D and Navisworks.
• Lead and participate in layout and design reviews—internally, with clients, and with vendors.
• Coordinate with all engineering disciplines to ensure optimal system and module layouts.
• Develop 3D models using E3D, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
• Produce 2D layout drawings and engineering documentation according to company and project requirements.
• Identify innovative and practical solutions for improving system design and layout efficiency.
• Contribute actively across all phases of the project lifecycle, including FEEDs, studies, and bids.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical quality, consistency, and project alignment.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Engineering (relevant experience may compensate for missing formal education).
• 5–10 years of experience in layout engineering and/or structural steel design for offshore applications.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Aveva E3D/PDMS, Navisworks, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering and offshore system integration.
• Ability to work both independently and in a project team with high quality and structure.
• Strong motivation, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of Vault.
• Experience within offshore energy projects.
• Proficiency in Norwegian.
