Your role in the story

As Engineer 2, you play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our SSCVs, the world’s largest crane vessels.

During your watch, you inspect, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment in the engine room. You report defects and unsafe conditions immediately, and you make sure all activities are executed safely and according to procedures.

You will assist the Engineer 1 with repair and maintenance tasks, take on independent responsibilities, and ensure accurate administration of your work. During shift handovers, you clearly communicate the work performed and any issues identified.

You’ll also collaborate closely with the electrical department and the deck team, ensuring that vessel operations run smoothly and efficiently. Once you’ve gained sufficient experience, you’ll contribute to deck-related technical work and provide support during complex offshore operations.

What you will be working on

• Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing engine room systems and auxiliary equipment
• Supporting deck and construction activities by operating compressors, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic hammers, and ILTs
• Assisting in the operation and maintenance of lifesaving and safety systems
• Reporting unsafe conditions and ensuring compliance with safety procedures
• Coordinating with electrical and mechanical colleagues to ensure vessel readiness

Key ingredients for success

• Maritime or technical vocational education (MAROF or equivalent)
• 2–5 years of experience as Engineer onboard an offshore or DP vessel
• Strong problem-solving mindset and sense of responsibility
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
• Proactive, safety-driven, and results-oriented attitude
• Team player with the flexibility to work in dynamic offshore conditions
