Why this role matters

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in building a robust internal audit capability from the ground up.

In this role you will:

• Executing the roadmap for establishing the Internal Audit function within JERA Nex bp.
• Ensuring effective internal audit methodology and processes.
• Preparing a risk-based internal audit plan.
• Executing internal audit engagements, formulating actionable recommendations, and drafting clear, concise audit reports.
• Monitoring the implementation of audit recommendations and action plans.
• Collaborating with external audit consultants, where appropriate.
• Reporting to the Audit Committee, providing independent and objective assurance on whether key risks are being effectively managed within the company’s defined risk appetite.
• Supporting the continuous improvement of the internal control environment.
• Optionally, contributing to First Party Audits for ISO certifications (ISO 9001, 27001, 14001, 45001).

Job requirements

To be successful in the role you will bring:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced audit professional who can operate independently and strategically. You ideally bring:

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 10 years of internal auditing experience, preferably in the (renewable) energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk-based auditing, and corporate governance.
• CIA certification is a plus.
• Trustworthy person, with a curious, analytical mindset.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills, and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and influence decision-making.
• A structured, hands-on approach with a high degree of autonomy.
• A genuine interest in renewable energy, including its technical, financial, and regulatory dimensions.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch, German, or Japanese is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
