We are now seeking a CDM Advisor to support projects across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Reporting to the Engineering and CDM Compliance Lead (EMEA), this role ensures safe and compliant project delivery while fostering a collaborative and professional approach with clients and internal teams.

Role Summary

As a CDM Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Black & Veatch in fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer (CDM 2015) on construction projects. You will liaise with clients, designers, and principal contractors to manage and coordinate health and safety across the design, construction, and commissioning phases. The role may include supporting the PSDP role in projects within Ireland as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure CDM Principal Designer and Designer roles are carried out in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Support Black & Veatch in fulfilling Principal Designer duties and act as CDM Advisor to clients when required.
• Support PSDP responsibilities in Irish projects, when required.
• Liaise with clients, designers, and contractors to share information critical to planning, managing, monitoring, and coordinating design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health and safety in the pre-construction phase, including reviewing pre-construction information such as existing Health & Safety files.
• Advise clients in compiling pre-construction information and provide guidance to designers and contractors to ensure compliance with CDM duties.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Several years’ experience in the construction industry with exposure to CDM/Health & Safety issues.
• Excellent working knowledge of CDM 2015 and relevant UK & Irish safety legislation.
• Proven track record delivering Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles on large-scale energy or industrial projects.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPS).
• Full and clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background checks, drug screening, vehicle records, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverables.
• Knowledge of construction and constructability practices.
• Understanding of procurement, contract administration, and project controls.
• PSDP qualifications.
• Experience in the energy sector.
• Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards it.
