Your new role:

As our new Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and support the design, modelling, and performance optimization of complex thermal systems — from advanced heat and mass balance calculations to on-site performance testing. Working with top experts across disciplines, you’ll help deliver reliable, efficient, and climate-aligned energy infrastructure to utilities, developers, and investors worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Thermodynamic Modelling:

• Develop detailed thermodynamic models for combined-cycle and cogeneration power plants (GTs, HRSGs, STs, condensers, cooling systems) using design specs and/or operational data.
• Simulate and evaluate heat and mass balance, fuel conversion efficiency, and overall plant performance.

System Design & Optimization:

• Design plant configurations and optimize performance under varying conditions.
• Generate and validate functional specifications for core mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate thermodynamic performance into plant design.

Performance Analysis:

• Analyze thermal performance metrics including power output, heat rate, component efficiencies, stage temperatures, and pressures.
• Diagnose operational issues using both steady-state and transient data to identify and quantify performance losses.

Field Testing & Data Collection:

• Participate in on-site performance testing of gas/steam turbines and combined-cycle plants.
• Apply corrections to field test data (e.g., to ISO 2314 or ASME PTC 22 conditions) and prepare comprehensive test reports.
• Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure accurate and reliable technical deliverables.

Your Profile:

You are a highly skilled thermal engineer with a passion for clean energy and precision in system performance. You’re eager to work across borders on projects that push the boundaries of conventional energy design.

You bring:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in plant performance engineering or turbine system design.
• Deep understanding of gas and steam turbine systems and performance testing.
• Experience with cogeneration and combined-cycle plant operation; knowledge of biomass power plants is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in thermodynamic modelling tools (e.g., Thermoflow, Ebsylon, Hysys, GateCycle, NPSS).
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Fluent English; additional languages (especially Polish or German) are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site testing and stakeholder engagement (majority remote work).
