Join our Lincoln, UK Turbine Engineering team as a Stress Analysis (Mechanical Integrity) Engineer. You will focus on conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for Gas Turbine components.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Collaborate with Mechanical Design, Heat Transfer, and Material Science teams to derive component life and duty-based lifing.
Analyse and adapt turbine blade, vane, and casing designs for new products and upgrades to meet life targets.
Conduct root cause analysis, weighted decision analysis, and design of experiments to improve product reliability.
Specify component and engine test requirements, ensuring alignment with performance goals.
Calibrate structural models using engine test data and fleet experience to validate design assumptions.
What You Bring
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong focus on Aerospace, Power Generation, Turbomachinery, or Automotive structural/mechanical design or materials science.
Relevant work experience in Finite Element stress analysis and component life calculation.
In-depth knowledge of material behavior, failure modes, and testing methods under cyclic and steady conditions, especially at high temperatures.
Proficiency in FE analysis and pre/post-processing software, particularly ABAQUS; familiarity with ANSYS, NX-SimCenter, or RR SC03 is also valuable.
Strong analytical skills to critique and validate results using 1D methods, such as hand calculations.
