Project Manager Maritime

Job description

From frigates and submarines to floating offshore platforms: you will lead engineering projects that are not for everyone. At Nevesbu – part of Iv – you will be given the trust and freedom to make your mark on the most unique maritime projects.

As a project manager at Nevesbu, you will be responsible for multiple technically complex engineering projects. You will be the point of contact for the client and the team, ensuring that everything is delivered on schedule, on budget and with the right quality. You will organise and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through all design phases, draw up accurate budgets and monitor progress in our Dynamics365 management system. You will approve hours, make adjustments where necessary, identify additional and less work, and communicate clearly with the client. You will always keep an eye on the bigger picture: balancing technology, collaboration and results. In this role, you will be able to develop yourself as a project manager in specialist, demanding markets under the guidance of the Manager of Projects.

In addition to implementation, you also play an active role in acquiring new assignments. Sometimes as support, sometimes as tender manager yourself. You know how to monitor complex contractual obligations and initiate the right actions where necessary. Quality, safety and environmental awareness are not just checkboxes for you, but an integral part of your approach. You focus on professionalism and awareness within your team.

What do we expect from you?

• You have at least a higher professional education (HBO) degree in a technical field, such as maritime engineering, maritime officer, aerospace engineering, civil engineering or electrical engineering.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in leading projects.
• You are trained in project management (e.g. IPMA or Prince2).
• You have at least 10 years of experience in engineering and maritime technology.
• A background in offshore or defence, particularly the navy, is an advantage.
• The location is currently still in Alblasserdam, but Nevesbu will be moving to Rotterdam (Admiraliteitskade 62, 3063 ED) in March 2026
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• You are proficient in programmes such as MS Office, MS Project and Dynamics365.
• A VGB-B security screening may be part of the application procedure.
