Senior Mechanical Engineer Water Treatment

Job description

Iv focuses on the design and construction supervision of a wide range of water-related assets, including drinking water, industrial water and wastewater installations, as well as water level management systems. Due to the growth of our activities, we are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of mechanical and installation components within a variety of projects.

You will work closely with colleagues from disciplines such as civil engineering and electrical engineering on complex technical assets, including:

• polder and storage basin pumping stations
• locks and weirs
• wastewater treatment plants
• sewage pumping stations

Your responsibilities include preparing cost estimates and specifications and translating these into design proposals or draft specifications. You will carry out static and dynamic hydraulic calculations and contribute to the design of transport systems such as pumps and piping. Knowledge of and experience with treatment works (for example sludge and gas lines) and sludge digestion installations (including biogas and ATEX) are a strong advantage. Finally, you will deliver clear, high-quality reports, for which a strong command of the Dutch language is required.

What do we expect from you?

We expect you to have:

• a higher professional or university degree (HBO/WO) in Mechanical Engineering
• five to ten years of relevant work experience in similar projects
• experience with multidisciplinary and complex projects, maintaining overview and identifying client needs

In addition, you:

• are able to balance interests tactfully and get the best out of your team
• have strong technical expertise in hydraulic calculations, transport systems and treatment works
• have knowledge of sludge digestion installations and ATEX (a major advantage)
• are experienced in drawing up equipment specifications and obtaining information from suppliers
• have excellent reporting skills and keep up to date with the latest developments
• actively contribute ideas for innovative applications within projects
• are fluent in spoken and written Dutch
