From iconic landmarks such as the London Eye and giant ferris wheels to the Jacket Lift System on the world’s largest pipe-laying vessel: as a Senior Structural Engineer at Iv, you will design, analyse and model some of the most unique structures in the world.

You also verify designs against applicable standards, such as Eurocodes, DNV standards or American codes. Using your expertise in software such as Ansys, SCIA, SACS or FEMAP, you are able to resolve technical bottlenecks efficiently and effectively.

An important part of your role is knowledge sharing. As a senior engineer, you act as one of the technical anchors within the team, making a tangible impact through your expertise. You support colleagues in their professional development and help ensure that the team’s collective knowledge and skills are used to their full potential.

You will be part of Iv’s Structural team, consisting of 20 to 30 engineers and designers working on both offshore and onshore projects for leading clients. The atmosphere is open, international and collaborative. You coordinate closely with the project manager on your assignments and report to the Structural Manager.

What do we expect from you?

We expect you to have:

• a completed Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Offshore Engineering, or a relevant technical Bachelor’s degree
• at least 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience, depending on your level
• proven experience with steel structures, preferably in an offshore environment
• familiarity with DNV standards, Eurocodes and American standards
• proficiency in FEM software such as Ansys, FEMAP, SACS and/or SCIA

In addition, you:

• have strong communication skills and are able to work independently
• demonstrate a proactive and coaching mindset
• are flexible and able to work on both short- and long-term projects
• have a strong command of the English language (knowledge of Dutch or other languages is an advantage)
