E&I SPI designer

Job description

As an E&I Cable Design Engineer, you ensure that complex cable systems for offshore high-voltage substations work flawlessly, right from the design stage. Your work directly impacts installation efficiency and system reliability. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing complete E&I cable infrastructure for offshore projects
• Using SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) to build and maintain detailed SPI databases of all E&I components, cables, and terminal strips
• Connecting cables in the wiring module and generating termination and loop diagrams using Infomaker and AutoCAD
• Ensuring cables are correctly connected and that installation instructions are clear for installers
• Minimizing errors during installation and improving efficiency

You will work within a small, tight-knit E&I team (3–8 members per project), sharing knowledge, brainstorming solutions, and supporting each other. You can either specialize in SPI or broaden your skills across other E&I design tasks.

What We Expect from You

• Completed vocational education (MBO) in Electrical Engineering or similar
• At least 3 years’ experience in E&I design
• Proficiency in SmartPlant Instrumentation (Intools), Infomaker, and AutoCAD
• Experience using the wiring module and generating termination and loop diagrams
• Accurate, structured, and independent work style
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage
