Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Glasgow (preferred) or London office. You will be a key member of the team, supporting regional electrical leadership while taking ownership of multiple projects and deliverables. This role offers exposure to renewable energy projects, power generation infrastructure, and BOP (Balance of Plant) design.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong foundation in HV/MV electrical engineering, a desire to progress toward chartership, and a drive to grow in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake HV/MV engineering design and review work, including:
  • Power system analysis
  • Substation design
  • Cable route design
  • Protection system coordination
• Support proposals (approx. 20% of time)
• Participate in site activity, audits, and commissioning (approx. 10% of time)
• Lead 1–2 detailed engineering projects, or manage multiple smaller/less complex projects with minimal supervision

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• BEng in Electrical or Power Engineering
• Approximately 5 years of relevant UK electrical engineering experience
• High Voltage (HV) engineering experience required; Medium Voltage (MV) desirable
• Knowledge of UK Grid Code and British Standards
• UK driving licence
• Unrestricted right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered – Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or actively working toward chartership
• Experience with DNO, renewables, or utility sector
• Balance of Plant (BOP) experience, particularly for Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and data centres
• Knowledge of:
  • Power systems studies (e.g., DIgSilent)
  • UK Grid Code compliance (G99, P28, P29)
  • ENA and BSEN standards
  • System protection schemes
  • DNO requirements and terminology for connections
