Mechanical Design Engineer – Heat Exchangers & Condensers

Job description

We are currently looking for experienced Mechanical Engineer to support engineering activities related to Nuclear Power Plant secondary systems, with a strong focus on condenser design and associated components.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical calculations for condenser sizing and design
• Review technical specifications and engineering requirements
• Develop mechanical designs in compliance with applicable international standards and codes
• Optimize design solutions and material selection (e.g. stainless steel, titanium)
• Verify mechanical integrity including thermal, vibration, and pressure analyses
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Integrate technical comments, updates, and project changes
• Contribute to equipment and performance improvement initiatives
• Prepare engineering documentation including calculation reports and engineering notes
• Carry out detailed design of condenser structural components such as:
  • Hotwell
  • Neck
  • Shell
  • Waterbox
  • Flashbox
  • Modules and subassemblies
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including:
  • assumptions definition
  • boundary conditions
  • load cases
  • interpretation of analysis results
• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards including:
  • ASME
  • EN standards
  • RCC-M
  • TEMA
• Design and verify anchoring and embedment systems
• Review manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, project requirements, and quality expectations

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience in condenser, heat exchanger, or pressure vessel design
• Experience in power generation, heavy industry, or nuclear projects
• Strong knowledge of mechanical calculations and structural analysis
• Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent
• Familiarity with international engineering standards and codes
• Good communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
• Professional level of English
