Senior Control Systems Engineer NEW

Job description

We are seeking a professional with solid practical knowledge of control systems engineering principles and practices. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. You will collaborate and coordinate with other control systems teams, engineering disciplines, functional departments, business partners, and clients throughout the project development process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design of control systems and be capable of preparing design documentation that meets project requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for various plant systems
• Participation in the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs
• Development and review of system design criteria and descriptions
• Specification and selection of instrumentation, control valves, and related equipment
• Preparation of control system design packages
• Creation of instrument data sheets and material requisitions
• Development and verification of setpoint calculations
• Design and review of binary and analog control logic
• Management of data within instrumentation, valve, and I/O databases
• Design and application of tubing and instrument installations
• Allocation and configuration of facility control systems I/O
• Design and review of control cabinets and network architectures
• Review of supplier and subcontractor data and documentation
• Participation in supplier factory acceptance tests (FATs)
• Coordination with other engineering disciplines and functional departments
• Providing technical guidance and limited leadership to junior engineers and designers
• Coordination with business partners and client representatives as required
• Delivering technical presentations related to Control Systems Engineering design
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Control/Automation, Electromechanical, or Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution
• 5–8 years of experience in Control Systems Engineering, or 9–12 years of relevant industry experience

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Prior experience in the design of commercial power plants or other industrial facilities
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ISA, ISO, ASME, DIN, ANSI/IEEE) applicable in the US, EU, and Poland
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.) and related engineering software
• Familiarity with control systems engineering processes and specifications
• Willingness to travel for project support when required
• Possession of a valid Polish engineering license (SEP)
