We are seeking a highly qualified specialist to join the project team. The client acts as the EPC contractor, responsible for the design of the turbine island and all remaining plant systems, as well as the full construction of the facility. We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to support geological and geotechnical activities for the Poland AP1000 Project at the construction site in Lubiatowo. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the lead field geotechnical engineer/geologist or their delegate. The role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to troubleshoot effectively, a proactive mindset, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. Throughout the entire subsurface investigation campaign, the candidate will be expected to provide full-time on-site support.

Key Responsibilities:
The position involves daily oversight of field operations, such as drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing, as well as regular participation in meetings and coordination with geotechnical/geological colleagues and client representatives. Main duties include:

• Gaining thorough knowledge of project specifications, borehole layout plans, bills of quantities, and relevant subcontract documentation
• Taking part in scheduled training sessions
• Providing technical guidance to subcontractors when necessary
• Monitoring all geotechnical field activities and ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards
• Assisting in drafting field instruction forms to clarify requirements or resolve technical issues
• Reviewing field data submitted by subcontractors to verify accuracy and adherence to project requirements
• Reporting field conditions and observations to the lead field engineer/geologist
• Coordinating daily activities with the lead field engineer/geologist
• Supporting coordination between multiple subcontractors and maintaining consistency in the information they provide
• Escalating unresolved issues promptly to the lead field engineer/geologist
• Contributing to the preparation of daily field reports
• Participating in safety briefings and daily planning meetings
• Adhering to all safety procedures and fulfilling reporting obligations
• Assisting with laboratory testing assignments
• Supporting any audits or inspections carried out by the client or the Polish National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), including preparing samples and presenting field work

Basic Qualifications:

• M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of relevant progressive experience
• Background in managing and/or conducting subsurface investigations (drilling, sampling, field and laboratory testing)
• Legal authorization to work in Poland without employer sponsorship
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common software tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use engineering and office automation tools effectively
• Capability to communicate in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Full professional fluency in English
• Familiarity with Polish geology, ideally the geology in the Lubiatowo area
• Polish professional certification as a Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer
• Experience in offshore ground investigation Projects
• Readiness to work in shifts on an offshore jack-up rig with live-aboard conditions
• Knowledge of relevant Polish and international codes and standards used in the nuclear sector
• Demonstrated experience on large-scale industrial EPC Projects
• Experience with licensing, design, or construction of commercial nuclear power plants
• Familiarity with nuclear quality programs
• Experience working with procedures aligned with nuclear quality assurance and occupational safety requirements
