Assistant Structural Designer (for projects in Switzerland) NEW

Job description

Your key responsibilities are:

• Creating 3D BIM models for structural systems in building construction, including reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures, as well as excavation works with retaining systems and temporary support measures
• Preparing drawings for preliminary, detailed design, and construction phases, including formwork, reinforcement, and steelwork 2D drawings
• Developing models and drawings using Tekla and Allplan
• Preparing related documentation, such as material and order lists
• Collaborating closely with project managers, structural engineers, and other disciplines
• Communicating actively within the project team to ensure efficient and high-quality project delivery

Qualifications

Must-have:

• Completed vocational training as a draftsperson, structural design technician, or a comparable technical qualification
• Up to 5 years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally in structural engineering
• Very good knowledge of Tekla, preferably in 3D concrete, reinforcement, steel, and timber modeling
• Experience in creating reinforcement models and 2D reinforcement drawings in Tekla
• Experience working on BIM projects and enthusiasm for model-based design
• Strong spatial awareness and precise working methods
• Interest in contributing to complex and large-scale projects
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Independent, reliable, and team-oriented approach

Nice-to-have:

• Up to 2 years of additional experience in a similar role
• Experience working on Swiss projects
• Good German language skills (B2 level or higher)
• Good knowledge of Allplan
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience with Python and Grasshopper for Rhino
