Your responsibilities as a ROC ROV Pilot Technician:
The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to;
Pilot and control remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) using approved digital control systems and interfaces.
Execute assigned subsea tasks including inspection, survey, observation, and light intervention activities under the direction of the ROC ROV Supervisor.
Monitor ROV system performance, data feeds, and sensor outputs to ensure accurate navigation, tether management, and mission execution.
Conduct pre-dive checks, simulations, and post-task system diagnostics in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.
Support offshore and ROC-based personnel in the remote fault diagnosis and basic troubleshooting of ROV systems and tooling.
Maintain clear and effective communication with offshore crews, ROC colleagues, and client representatives to coordinate operations in real time.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of dive logs, reports, video recordings, and data entry in line with project and audit requirements.
We offer
A minimum of 2 years ROV experience.
Exposure to digital or remote piloting systems (e.g. ROC-based control, networked ROV operations) – desirable.
Valid and current IMCA Company Member Competence Certificate or completed and validated IMCA Competence Portfolio supporting completion of all ROV Senior Pilot Technician (R02) competencies – desirable.
Documented work history via an up-to-date IMCA ROV logbook showing relevant piloting and operational support activity within the last 12 months – desirable.
Familiarity with Work-Class ROV systems such as Kystdesign or Saab Seaeye, including basic piloting, tether management, and navigation support – desirable.
Demonstrated understanding of subsea operational environments (e.g. inspection, observation, and light intervention scopes) – desirable.
Experience assisting with basic fault diagnosis, pre-dive checks, and tooling changeouts is advantageous but not essential.
Prior work in an offshore or simulation-based control environment is beneficial but not mandatory for initial appointment if supported by technical aptitude and training – desirable.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to operate within a digital control environment; basic diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Competence: IMCA Company Member Competence Certificate or IMCA Competence Portfolio (R05).
Technical qualifications: recognized technical qualification in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or hydraulic discipline (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, military trade, or equivalent).
ROV Introductory Training: successful completion of an IMCA-approved ROV Introductory Training course (IMCA R002 compliant), with valid certification.

Extra information
Your team: you will report to the ROC ROV Supervisor.
Where you will work: You will work in our designated on-site Remote Operations Centre. There may be ad-hoc opportunities for offshore trips.
Full/part- time job: The position of ROC ROV Pilot Technicianis a permanent role and will be offered on a Guaranteed Days Contract basis.
