Job description

At FERCHAU, we specialize in delivering top engineering and IT experts to meet the unique challenges of our clients. We are currently strengthening our design teams in the shipbuilding sector and are looking for Senior Ship Design Engineers in various specializations for projects involving deck outfitting, marine systems and electrical installations.

  • Mode: On-site in Gdynia during onboarding, then hybrid (3 days on-site / 2 days home office)

Your responsibilities

  • Design and development of structural elements and systems for marine vessels
  • Preparation of design documentation: technical drawings, layout plans, system diagrams, 3D models, and production documentation
  • Selection of marine equipment and technical components in accordance with project requirements and classification society regulations
  • Analysis of supplier offers and verification of compliance with technical requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and Classification Society regulations
  • Development and optimization of technical solutions based on project documentation and client requirements
  • Cooperation with multidisciplinary engineering teams and provision of technical support at various project stages
  • Participation in feasibility studies, technical calculations, and risk assessments (depending on specialization)
  • Cooperation with production teams in clarification of technical documentation and resolution of ongoing project challenges

What you bring to the table

  • Higher technical education (Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design within the shipbuilding or offshore industry in one of the following areas: mechanical or piping / deck outfitting / electrical installations
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD
  • Experience in preparing design and workshop documentation
  • English language proficiency at B1/B2 level
