Job description

Scope of Work

As an Offshore Client Representative (OCR) for geotechnical surveys on an offshore‑wind project, you will:

  • Supervise offshore geotechnical campaigns that may deploy CPTU, SCPTU, VC (vibro‑corer) and borehole systems, or other comparable tools.
  • Review the contractor’s RAMS and the Survey Scope of Work (SOW), attend the kick‑off meeting, and act as the COMPANY’s on‑board representative from mobilisation to demobilisation.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Package Manager and submit detailed Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) covering operations, QA/QC, HSE, sampling status and weather conditions.
  • Verify the configuration, calibration and performance of all geotechnical equipment; witness every test, trial and inspection.
  • Ensure samples are collected, handled and preserved in full compliance with COMPANY requirements.
  • Monitor data‑acquisition and onboard processing in real time, confirming parameter choice and the completeness and accuracy of all deliverables.
  • Advise the contractor and Package Manager on performance and contractual compliance, and liaise with vessel management to relay COMPANY priorities.
  • Promote high HSE standards, participate in toolbox and SIMOPS meetings, and serve as the immediate point of contact for FLO/MMO personnel when concerns arise.
  • Track current and forecast weather, coordinate weather‑related standby decisions with the contractor, and log all downtime.
  • Check that all certificates, audits and drills are up to date, and that field reports accurately reflect the work executed.
  • Contribute proactively to team goals, sharing ideas and respecting the views of others.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years total in the offshore construction, geology or survey sector.
  • At least 3 years with a contractor performing offshore geotechnical surveys.
  • At least 3 years specifically as an OCR on offshore geotechnical campaigns; experience in Poland is a strong plus.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Advanced written and spoken English (mandatory); knowledge of Polish is an additional advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of offshore geotechnical survey techniques and deliverable formats (e.g. ASCII, AGS, GIS) and the associated QA/QC processes.
  • Familiarity with international and Polish offshore safety legislation and regulations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and common geophysical / geotechnical QC software (e.g. QGIS, ArcMap, IHS Kingdom, SeisSee), plus personal hardware and valid licences to perform onboard QC tasks.
  • Valid STCW Basic Safety, BOSIET or GWO Sea Survival certificates, and an up‑to‑date offshore medical (OGUK or equivalent).
  • Ability to travel at short notice and remain offshore for extended periods.
  • A proactive, safety‑first attitude and the confidence to intervene respectfully and cooperatively whenever necessary.
