About the position of Project Controller

What can you expect as a Project Controller at Huisman?As a Project Controller at Huisman, you operate at the heart of complex, international projects that contribute to the energy transition. Working closely with the Project Manager, you support and oversee projects across multiple locations. Depending on the assignment, you collaborate with colleagues in the Czech Republic, China and other international sites.Huisman’s projects are technically complex and often new in nature. This requires curiosity, the ability to quickly understand new products and projects, and the capacity to translate this understanding into strong financial control. You will be part of a global project team and are expected to actively engage with project teams on site and across locations.

What do we expect of you?

As a Project Controller, you are a key financial partner within the project team. You take a proactive role, are not afraid to step into the business, and are able to challenge and support project teams where needed. You work closely with colleagues within finance and beyond, contributing wherever required to ensure project success.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and submitting periodic financial project reports and budget control reports;
• Supporting the Project Manager by identifying, monitoring and signalling project risks, deadlines and contractual obligations, with a focus on financial impacts and reporting;
• Monitoring project performance by translating physical progress from project planning into financial progress, and discussing financial forecasts and variances with the Project Manager;
• Being alert to potential tax implications within projects and signalling these in a timely manner to the tax function, ensuring appropriate follow-up;
• Managing the financial aspects of project progress, cash flows, claims and change orders;
• Supporting internal and external financial audits related to projects.
• Working closely with Tax Controller Specialists to support the Project Manager with tax forecasting and reporting, and monitoring and signalling project-related tax risks;
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal financial and project control processes, with a hands-on and team-oriented mindset.

You are/have:

• A strong team player who is willing to step in and support colleagues when required;
• Proactive, assertive and comfortable engaging with project teams and stakeholders across locations;
• Curious and motivated to understand the product and project context to improve financial control;
• Flexible and able to operate in a dynamic, international project environment;
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Economics or a comparable field;
• Several years of experience in project control within complex project environments;
• Strong analytical skills, a structured way of working and the ability to perform under pressure.

Some practical things we need you to have:

• An EU passport or a valid work permit for the Netherlands;
• A good command of both English and Dutch, spoken and written.
