About Nevesbu

Within Iv, Nevesbu is a naval architecture and marine engineering company specializing in the maritime sector. We are looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer for this division. Under the guidance of a (senior) engineer, you will be involved in designing and elaborating solutions for technical issues, including producing design documents in which all applicable requirements regarding quality and integrity are specified.

You will work on different kinds of calculations, such as:

• short-circuit calculations
• lighting calculations
• cable calculations

You will also be responsible for various designs, including:

• single-line diagrams
• block diagrams
• cable routing

You will be engaged in the initial brainstorming phase of various designs and communicate daily with the lead engineer and colleagues within your discipline. Naturally, you will also collaborate closely with other disciplines whenever the work requires it.

From submarines and frigates to unique floating offshore energy applications, Nevesbu works on some of the most unique and technically challenging maritime projects worldwide. We operate in the following markets:

• submarines
• naval vessels
• floating offshore energy
• special vessels

Nevesbu has expert in-house knowledge across all these disciplines and provides consultancy and engineering services throughout all project phases, from initial feasibility studies to complete design, engineering, and site supervision. Examples of unique projects and innovations include the upkeep of the Dutch Walrus-class submarines for the Ministry of Defence, the lifespan extension of Malaysian frigates, and an innovative concept for a floating transformer platform.

What do we expect from you?

We expect you to have:

• a higher vocational or university-level degree (HBO/WO) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field
• one to two years of work experience, preferably in the maritime sector

You enjoy diversity in projects and are not afraid to take on challenges. You have an excellent understanding of the project context of the vessel involved and are able to maintain an overall overview. You continuously strive to improve and innovate and demonstrate awareness of the latest developments in your field. You actively contribute ideas on how we, as a company, can optimally participate in these developments.

A good command of the Dutch language is required. The current location is Alblasserdam; however, Nevesbu will relocate to Rotterdam (Admiraliteitskade 62, 3063 ED) in March 2026.
