As a Senior/Lead Marine Mechanical Engineer, you are in the right place if you enjoy diversity and technically complex challenges that even the most experienced specialists cannot solve easily. At times, you will work on large-scale multidisciplinary projects, while at other moments you will focus on smaller but more intensive assignments. Your role is crucial to the development of technologically advanced mechanical systems and to the configuration of equipment and piping for naval vessels, floating offshore units and special vessels.

You will be involved in the design of a wide range of mechanical systems, such as:

• propulsion train design
• planes and rudder design
• special components, including valves and hatches

You act as a sparring partner for the Lead Engineer, supervise Junior Engineers and actively contribute your ideas and perspectives on the growth and development of the discipline.

From submarines and frigates to unique floating offshore energy applications, Nevesbu operates as a naval architecture and marine engineering company on some of the most unique and technically challenging maritime projects worldwide. We are active in the following markets:

Nevesbu has extensive in-house expertise across all these disciplines and provides consultancy and engineering services throughout all project phases, from the initial feasibility studies to complete design, engineering and site supervision. Examples of unique projects and innovations include the upkeep of the Dutch Walrus-class submarines for the Ministry of Defence, the lifespan extension of Malaysian frigates and an innovative concept for a floating transformer platform.

What do we expect from you?

We expect you to have:

• a completed bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
• at least five years of relevant experience and specialist knowledge of concept and basic design
• solid technical expertise; the discipline holds no secrets for you

In addition, you:

• continuously explore the limits of what is technically possible and are able to introduce innovations in a responsible way
• enjoy working on a variety of projects and are not afraid of challenges
• understand the project context and maintain overall oversight, regardless of the type of vessel involved
• are driven to continuously improve and innovate

A VGB-B security screening may be part of the application process.

The current location is Alblasserdam; however, Nevesbu will relocate to Rotterdam (Admiraliteitskade 62, 3063 ED) in March 2026.
