Systems Engineer

Job description

In some of the world’s most complex offshore projects, systems engineers ensure that teams operate from a single source of truth—even when faced with 10,000 to 20,000 client requirements. At Iv, you’ll help structure, manage, and maintain clarity in large-scale technical projects, including 2GW offshore platforms and floating transformer stations.

As a Systems Engineer, your responsibilities include:

• Setting up and applying systems engineering (SE) processes throughout the project
• Supporting the collection, structuring, and management of requirements
• Organising review sessions, validation, and verification activities
• Maintaining transparency and traceability using tools such as Relatics
• Translating client expectations into clear, structured requirements
• Ensuring changes are properly tracked and communicated
• Helping teams make well-informed decisions through structured documentation and collaboration

You’ll work closely with designers, modellers, and engineers within the Systems Engineering team, part of the broader Information Engineering department. The team values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement, giving you room to grow and refine your expertise. You’ll report to the Systems Engineering Lead.

What do we expect from you?

• A higher vocational (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Science
• At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role
• Basic knowledge of requirements management, SE methodology, and tools such as Relatics
• Strong English communication skills
• A structured, proactive approach, eagerness to learn, and enjoyment of collaborative problem-solving
