In this exciting and varied role, your day typically begins with a team meeting to discuss ongoing key projects, prioritize tasks, and address any immediate concerns. You will oversee the progress of Offshore Wind and HVDC interconnector projects, ensuring they meet safety, quality, time, functionality, and cost requirements. Coordination with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers is key to smooth project execution. You identify and mitigate risks, maintain a change log for scope changes, and chair technical and progress meetings to ensure alignment. Additionally, you will support the implementation of new ideas and innovations, staying updated with relevant regulations to ensure compliance and promote proactive project management.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Driving the project and work packages to meet the defined requirements (e.g., safety, quality, time, functionality & cost).
Responsible for the procurement and management of consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers from design, through delivery and handover.
Identification, monitoring and mitigation of risks and opportunities.
Fulfilling the role of Contract Administrator (NEC3/4 / FIDIC / Custom contracts).
Defining, drafting and managing subcontract documentation in coordination with other functions and project collaborators, including scope, specification, drawings, programme, resources, design work, interfaces, constraints, document management, reporting, H&S, quality requirements, and ‘as builts’.
Chairing technical and progress meetings with subcontractors and internal collaborators.
Liaising with the civil design manager/coordinators to ensure the flow of design documentation is consistent with the programme and in line with the design review process within the engineering function and contract requirements.
Monitoring the scope and recording any changes in a change log, highlighting potential impacts to programme and budget, and implementing mitigation measures.
Actively supporting the implementation of new ideas and innovations (e.g., advancements in construction technology and materials).
What You Bring
Experience within the Civil Engineering, Construction, or Infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of Construction Methodologies.
Excellent communicator able to convey complex technical and commercial issues.
Bold and willing to work flexibly, both in the office and on-site.
Proactive attitude.
Fully conversant with Health and Safety, Environmental and Planning regulations.
Good standard of IT literacy – especially MS Office 365 solutions.
Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
Ideally chartered with either the ICE, CIOB, RICS, CICES or working towards.
