SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER (ALL)

Job description

To undertake all the civil engineering tasks within the “Tank, Civil and Structural Steel Department”. This will be required to liaise with other engineering disciplines. The engineer will be expected to take the lead role on proposals and projects and supervise a team of structural engineers/subcontractors:

  • Review / interpret soil, seismic assessment reports prepared by other parties
  • Execution and/or interpretation of geotechnical calculations
  • Basic and detail engineering for all civil activities as required by project
  • Supervise and coordinate the design of civil structures, roads, drainage, marine structures and earthworks as required by project
  • Estimation of quantities and engineering manhours
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design Software to prepare engineering design documents
  • Support / supervise the designers of the Plant 3D Model
  • ITB preparation during project execution for external engineering Services and coordination/supervision of these works
  • BackOffice support to site activities (reply of site queries, Validation of design reworks, etc)
  • Support continuous improvement of the department and the Company (development of document templates, guidelines, clarification of interfaces etc.)
  • Undertake the lead engineer role in the projects and mentor junior engineers
YOU ARE THE RIGHT ONE FOR OUR US, because you are/ have:
  • Diploma / Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil & gas industry in a similar position
  • Knowledge of applicable national and international codes and Standards
  • Basic understanding of structural dynamics and earthquake-resistant design
  • Knowledge in the field of structural analysis and solid construction, soil mechanics
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis Software (SAP2000 or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad or other drafting Software (E3D or Tekla Structure would be an advantage)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (knowledge of German language is appreciated)
  • Structured way of working, high self-motivation, team spirit and assertiveness
  • Highly open minded, experienced in working in international teams
  • Highly developed Communications and interpersonal skills
