From early engineering phases onwards, you set up a solid work breakdown and planning structure, safeguard quality, cost and timelines, and align activities with project objectives. While you bring strong engineering insight, your focus is on people management, coordination and decision-making. You report to the Project Manager Engineering and act as a stabilizing leadership presence within the department.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"812\" data-end=\"815\" \/>\n<p><strong data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"841\">Key responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"843\" data-end=\"896\">In this role, your responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"1919\">\n<li data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"1014\">Leading, coaching and developing a Plans &amp; Arrangements engineering team of 15\u201320 FTE across multiple locations.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1015\" data-end=\"1119\">Creating structure in planning, workload distribution and priorities, ensuring predictable delivery.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1225\">Setting up and maintaining work breakdown structures, resource planning and team capacity management.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1337\">Safeguarding quality, timelines and costs of P&amp;A engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1338\" data-end=\"1444\">Coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces and aligning P&amp;A activities with overall project objectives.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1542\">Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations and Damen Naval engineering standards.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1543\" data-end=\"1629\">Monitoring team performance and progress, addressing risks and removing obstacles.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"1738\">Acting as key interface towards Project Management, other disciplines and external engineering partners.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1834\">Supporting production and shipyard activities on Plans &amp; Arrangements topics when required.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1835\" data-end=\"1919\">Contributing to process improvement and knowledge sharing within the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"1924\" \/>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1926\" data-end=\"1949\">Skills &amp; experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"2019\">We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2021\" data-end=\"2785\">\n<li data-start=\"2021\" data-end=\"2185\">A technical bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree with extensive experience in Plans &amp; Arrangements or outfitting engineering, preferably within complex naval projects.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2288\">Proven experience in leading larger engineering teams and managing work across multiple locations.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2289\" data-end=\"2380\">Strong people management skills: coaching, decision-making and setting clear direction.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2381\" data-end=\"2473\">The ability to translate project objectives into realistic planning and team priorities.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2474\" data-end=\"2575\">Sufficient technical depth to challenge content, without needing to engineer everything yourself.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2673\">Experience working in multidisciplinary environments with internal and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2674\" data-end=\"2785\">Excellent references, as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
