Document Controller \u2013 Damen Naval<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a Document Controller<\/strong> at Damen Naval, you play an important supporting role in the construction of state-of-the-art naval vessels<\/strong>. You will support a naval-shipbuilding project team by managing and exchanging all relevant documentation with customers, partners, and subcontractors<\/strong>. Your work ensures timely, accurate, and confidential communication, while maintaining strict configuration control<\/strong> within Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.<\/p>\n

\n

Key Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this role, your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Processing incoming and outgoing documents<\/strong> and vendor data in various databases (PDM, PLM).<\/li>\n
  • Registering, distributing, and expediting<\/strong> documents to ensure availability for authorized personnel and recipients.<\/li>\n
  • Ensuring timely delivery<\/strong> of internal documents and vendor data.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders<\/strong> (customers, subcontractors, colleagues) to resolve document or data issues across multiple sub-projects.<\/li>\n
  • Initiating effective mitigating actions<\/strong> in case of expected delivery delays.<\/li>\n
  • Reporting<\/strong> on the status and progress of Document Control activities.<\/li>\n
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements<\/strong> for Document Control tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Skills & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

    We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • 2+ years of experience in document control, administration, and processing vendor documents<\/strong> in a technical, logistics, or production environment.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with PDM (Enovia) and PLM software<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Extensive experience with MS Office<\/strong>, especially Excel.<\/li>\n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree, preferably in Business Administration<\/strong> or a logistics-related field.<\/li>\n
    • Competencies: accuracy, proactive attitude, keen eye for detail, flexibility, strong communication and interpersonal skills<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Good command of English<\/strong>, both written and verbal; basic knowledge of Dutch or German<\/strong> is a plus or willingness to learn.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent references; a security screening<\/strong> is part of the hiring process.<\/li>\n
    • Permanent EU citizenship and passport<\/strong> are required due to the military nature of the projects. Candidates with EU work visas or dual EU\/non-EU nationality are not eligible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
