This may include, but is not limited to:\n<ul data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2604\">\n<li data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2311\">Leading, managing, delivering and documenting specific R&amp;D projects.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2314\" data-end=\"2385\">Development and maintenance of cable rating strategies and methods.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2388\" data-end=\"2450\">Setting standards for technical reports and documentation.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2453\" data-end=\"2525\">Conducting appropriate scientific calculations and analysis studies.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2528\" data-end=\"2604\">Liaising with internal and external clients and suppliers, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"2986\">Providing technical support and guidance to the wider R&amp;D team and others, as appropriate, throughout the life cycle of the product, including but not limited to:\n<ul data-start=\"2773\" data-end=\"2986\">\n<li data-start=\"2773\" data-end=\"2840\">Technical risk identification and client specification reviews.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2843\" data-end=\"2912\">Non-conformances, design rule deviations and project concessions.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2915\" data-end=\"2986\">Complex client technical queries, calculations and analysis requests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2988\" data-end=\"3172\">Responsible for supporting and, where appropriate, leading the development and integration of new technologies, templates, calculations and tools to improve efficiency and quality.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3174\" data-end=\"3240\">On-the-job training and mentorship of engineers at all levels.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3242\" data-end=\"3362\">Where appropriate and as directed, taking actions to comply with group and team expectations to meet their objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"3364\" data-end=\"3367\" \/>\n<p><strong>You are meant for this job if:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3420\" data-end=\"4693\">\n<li data-start=\"3420\" data-end=\"3631\">Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably Electrical Engineering or Physics. A Mechanical Engineering degree for candidates with suitable post-graduate experience will also be considered.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3632\" data-end=\"3917\">Extensive relevant experience in electromagnetic and thermal analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), analytical methods and multi-physics simulations, specifically for high voltage cable applications using industry-standard software (e.g. COMSOL, ANSYS) or proprietary codes.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3918\" data-end=\"4186\">Advanced understanding of HV cable thermal rating strategies and electromagnetic\/thermal problem-solving techniques, with strong analytical and mathematical skills and attention to detail, including proficiency in coding\/scripting (e.g. Python, MATLAB or similar).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4187\" data-end=\"4306\">Strong relevant detailed knowledge of submarine cable constructions, designs, ratings, systems and their operation.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4307\" data-end=\"4530\">Relevant knowledge of industry standards relating to submarine cable design calculations and thermal rating, including experience in interpretation and application of appropriate IEC standards and CIGRE recommendations.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4531\" data-end=\"4617\">Demonstrable experience of problem solving and working in high-paced environments.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4618\" data-end=\"4693\">Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4711\" data-end=\"5437\">\n<li data-start=\"4711\" data-end=\"4797\">A higher degree (MEng or higher) in a relevant subject; Chartered Engineer status.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4798\" data-end=\"4847\">Experience working within an
