The Engineers oversee the maintenance and repairs of all machinery and electrical equipment (deck and engine) onboard the vessel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all propulsion, auxiliary and deck machinery, electrical appliances, air conditioning, domestic installations, fittings and structures, RIB &amp; deck crane.<\/li>\n<li>Consult at least daily with the Master to achieve the maximum economy consistent with the minimum efficiency required. \u00a0Keeping the Master fully informed of any occurrences in the engine room or deck equipment which might affect navigation or the essential services under their control.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation and to ensure that all responsible crew are familiar with Emergency Procedures, Contingency Plans and capable of operating all Safety and Pollution Prevention equipment and appliances.<\/li>\n<li>Be familiar with details of vessel\u2019s construction, machinery and operating characteristics and take overall responsibility for the configuration of the vessel and all systems and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a careful account of all labour coming under jurisdiction so that contractors\u2019 bills can be checked and to ensure suitable quality of workmanship.<\/li>\n<li>Keep accurate records of bunkers, lubricating oils and water consumed.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all Planned Maintenance and both normal and emergency repair work is carried out.\u00a0 Ensuring that all work is planned for minimum disruption to the vessel\u2019s overall programme and maximum reliability and availability of the plant.<\/li>\n<li>To adhere to Company Rules and Procedures relating to the department, making sure that all staff are alerted to Company requirements particularly safety, on any relevant matters.<\/li>\n<li>Make regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces.<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for the bunkering of the vessel and ensuring that the quantity and quality is as ordered.<\/li>\n<li>Arranging all transfers of fuel\/lubricant oil\/ballast\/fresh water, and checking plans with the Master prior to actioning.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing all spare gear orders, spare gear inventory lists and ensure spares are adequate.<\/li>\n<li>Keep all engine room records as required by the Company.<\/li>\n<li>Return to Base Office any Company Reports and Forms agreed by the Company in timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Deal with the administration and upkeep of Classification Society Survey requirements of both hull and machinery.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the security of all watertight compartments To give\/receive an appropriate and detailed handover when joining\/leaving a Company vessel.<\/li>\n<li>To carry-out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Master or the Company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Knowledge &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chief Engineer &lt; 3000 kW \u2013\u00a0<strong>For Chief Engineer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Second Engineer SV &lt;3000 GT &amp; &lt;9,000 kW CoC (or Equivalent) \u2013\u00a0<strong>For Engineer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with the operation of all technical installations on board<\/li>\n<li>Good command of English (written and spoken)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the operational processes of the vessel, ICT Office applications and fleet management systems<\/li>\n<li>ENG1<\/li>\n<li>Sea Survival Course<\/li>\n<li>Basic Fire Fighting<\/li>\n<li>First Aid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What you can expect<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A dynamic environment:\u00a0A job where you can make an impact as part of a diverse, international team of experts.<\/li>\n<li>Rewarding conditions:<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>A competitive salary, allowances, pension scheme.<\/li>\n<li>Career development:\u00a0Plenty of opportunities to realise your full potential\u00a0with training and development through our Boskalis Academy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Extra information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your team:\u00a0Reporting to the Master or the Technical Manager, you will work as a Chief Engineer or Engineer alongside a specialist crew.<\/li>\n<li>Where you will work:\u00a0This role is project based and you will work around the UK and Ireland.<\/li>\n<li>Full\/part-time job:\u00a0The position\u00a0of Chief Engineer or Engineer is a full-time job.
