Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle \u2013 from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we\u2019re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of the role<\/strong><br \/>\nOur Energy Unit provides Civil and Structural expertise across various projects including Transmission, Thermal, Renewable and Nuclear. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Geotechnical Engineer with demonstrable experience to join our Digital Award-winning Civil Team.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll carry out work on Energy projects, fulfilling tasks including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ground Investigation preparation of scope, specifications, interpretation and verification of ground investigation data and parameters for a ground model to assist in design<\/li>\n<li>Geotechnical desks studies, preliminary assessments and reviews of existing geotechnical reporting<\/li>\n<li>Investigation contractor management on site and office, including reviewing of RAMs and monitoring health and safety compliance<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Geotechnical Design Reports<\/li>\n<li>Geotechnical analysis, with experience in ground modelling and analysis softwares<\/li>\n<li>Working with engineers of other disciplines in a team in order to produce integrated geotechnical assessments into the overall project delivery<\/li>\n<li>Assessing the geotechnical hazards and risks to projects and communicating appropriate solutions<\/li>\n<li>Answering technical queries and requests for information and forward to relevant designers<\/li>\n<li>Support to proposals and production of client tender packages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidate specification<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Essential :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering \/ Geology<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Energy developments, and ideally in one of the following sectors:\n<ul>\n<li>Transmission and Distribution (T&amp;D) networks<\/li>\n<li>Energy Generation (Renewables, Hydro and Thermal)<\/li>\n<li>Nuclear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Demonstratable experience in ground investigation site works<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of CDM regulations<\/li>\n<li>Demonstratable experience in foundation and earthworks geotechnical design<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Eurocodes, BS standards, and local regulations<\/li>\n<li>Environmental and sustainability considerations in geotechnical design<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills in English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree with a Masters<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of CDM regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the outset we would expect some experience in all named areas but, should your application be successful, you will have the opportunity to learn from other team members in the wider geotechnical skills group and to further develop your skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agile working\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Mott MacDonald, we believe it makes business sense for you and your manager to choose how you can work most effectively to meet your client, team, and personal commitments.
