The role is focused on safely and effectively carrying out road repairs and surface improvements using the microasphalt\/microsurfacing process, ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards. The post requires travel to various sites across the UK and working every other weekend during the main season. Colas will arrange\/provide mobile accommodation and pay subsistence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"1709\">\n<li data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"849\">Safely carry out road repairs and surface improvements using the microasphalt\/microsurfacing process in line with specified methods and quality standards.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"991\">Apply and observe relevant safety legislation and company procedures, including the Health &amp; Safety at Work Act and the Road Traffic Act.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1111\">Follow procedures for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1189\">Drive vehicles in compliance with the Road Traffic Act and company rules.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1273\">Operate plant and machinery as required and directed by the foreman\/supervisor.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1274\" data-end=\"1346\">Install, maintain and remove traffic management systems as required.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1451\">Prepare roads for surface treatment, including protection of ironwork and other pre-treatment tasks.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"1576\">Be available to work away from home on a one-week-on, one-week-off basis (every other weekend).
