As a senior member of the Mechanical Engineering team, you will lead development of complex industrial products, provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, and ensure our products meet stringent performance and quality standards.<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead development, testing and evaluation of mechanical designs for the Energy industry\u00a0in accordance with\u00a0Camlin NPI process, while\u00a0complying with\u00a0industry standards and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Apply sound knowledge of engineering principles to evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical products.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor engineers,\u00a0providing\u00a0technical guidance, best practices, and support for skill development.<\/li>\n<li>Create,\u00a0review\u00a0and\u00a0maintain\u00a0engineering drawings, technical\u00a0specifications\u00a0and test plans\u00a0in accordance with\u00a0Camlin best practice.<\/li>\n<li>Create,\u00a0review\u00a0and\u00a0maintain\u00a0Bills of Materials (BoM) and work with Purchasing to identify\u00a0appropriate suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that products will perform consistently in specified operating environments, meeting Camlin\u00a0quality\u00a0and customer expectations.<\/li>\n<li>Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM, DFA) techniques, including standardisation and exploration of new processes, to ensure cost-effective and efficient design.<\/li>\n<li>Lead collaboration with other engineering functions, and other departments including the Operations team.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct design reviews, design evaluations, and testing to uphold high-quality standards.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively challenge and drive the organisation to continually improve quality and performance of engineering design.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and manage own work with limited supervision and provide estimates of engineering costs and timescales to support business needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><strong>Essential Requirements<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, or practical work experience\u00a0commensurate\u00a0to a 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0level education.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of\u00a07\u00a0years\u2019 experience in a mechanical engineering\u00a0environment\u00a0with a focus on\u00a0product\u00a0design and development, including experience leading complex design projects through the full product lifecycle.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Solid Edge or similar CAD packages, including creation of parts, assemblies and detailed 2D drawings\u00a0including use of GD&amp;T.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated\u00a0understanding of core mechanical engineering principles,\u00a0manufacturing\u00a0processes\u00a0and\u00a0assembly techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design cost effective solutions from specifications against agreed budget and timescale requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills to\u00a0facilitate\u00a0effective collaboration within the team and with other departments.<\/li>\n<li>Experience\u00a0with\u00a0prototype testing \/ verification\u00a0and failure analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Practical, hands-on experience, with\u00a0part manufacture\u00a0and\u00a0prototype assembly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The following skills will be valuable but\u00a0is\u00a0not essential:<\/p>\n<ul data-pattern=\"discCircleSquare\" data-depth=\"1\">\n<li>Experience of precision components,\u00a0electronics packaging\u00a0and electro-mechanical systems\u00a0will be a distinct advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><strong>Our Values <\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-pattern=\"discCircleSquare\" data-depth=\"1\">\n<li>We work together<\/li>\n<li>We believe in people<\/li>\n<li>We won\u2019t accept the \u2018way it has always been done\u2019<\/li>\n<li>We listen to learn<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019re trying to do the right thing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is a key contributor responsible for designing, developing, and\u00a0optimizing\u00a0cutting-edge\u00a0electro-mechanical products for the Energy Utilities and Renewables industries.
