Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design. Together, we deliver best-in-class solutions to our clients while offering diverse and technically stimulating opportunities to our people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of the role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have an exciting opportunity for a talented <strong>Principal\/Associate Process Engineer<\/strong> to join our team to support the delivery of our UK and Ireland clients\u2019 water and wastewater programmes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities and duties include:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead process engineering input across feasibility, concept, preliminary, and detailed design for water and wastewater treatment designs<\/li>\n<li>Develop and review process designs, including block flow diagrams, P&amp;IDs, mass balances, and equipment sizing<\/li>\n<li>Analyse operational data to identify optimisation opportunities and improve treatment performance<\/li>\n<li>Perform process modelling and simulation to support design and operational enhancements<\/li>\n<li>Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and client presentations<\/li>\n<li>Check process deliverables for accuracy and compliance<\/li>\n<li>Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical growth and team development<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with resource coordinators to manage project resources and contribute to recruitment and training initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Support business development by providing technical input to proposals, tenders, and client strategies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Candidate specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for an individual, keen to make a difference in the sector, take wide responsibilities and progress professionally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field<\/li>\n<li>Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in municipal water and\/or wastewater treatment<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of conventional and emerging treatment technologies<\/li>\n<li>Significant experience in developing and delivering feasibility, outline, and detailed process designs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to conduct root-cause analysis and optimise treatment processes<\/li>\n<li>Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Skilled in reviewing technical deliverables, calculations, and reports Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of emerging technologies<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to contribute to technical knowledge networks and promote best practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald\u2019s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland&#8217;s water and wastewater challenges.
