In this role, you\u2019ll be the go-to technical expert\u2014providing hands-on support, solving complex problems, and ensuring our customers get the best possible experience.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll work closely with clients and our sales teams, turning customer needs into real solutions while identifying opportunities to grow our Service business. Based remotely, the role offers variety and impact, with regular travel across the UK to both office locations and customer sites (onshore and offshore). Here, your work creates impact you can see and feel, every day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Role and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this role, you\u2019ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.<\/p>\n<p>Work model: remote from the UK #LI-remote with travel both on and off-shore<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead, maintain and update ABB Control System hardware\/software modules, including testing, integration and modifications.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and review design specifications, test procedures, method statements and scopes of work.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver product updates and new solutions in collaboration with customers, end users and internal stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Support bids, proposals and quotations while promoting sales of maintenance services, equipment and spares.<\/li>\n<li>Provide customer support including on-call advice, ad-hoc site visits, system modifications and lifecycle management.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure cyber security systems, processes and documentation are maintained to ABB standards.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot complex technical\/system issues on-site or remotely, driving proactive corrective actions.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and execute service work \u201cfirst-time right,\u201d managing subcontractors and ensuring quality, timelines and customer satisfaction.<\/li>\n<li>Compile site visit reports, communicate findings and ensure follow-up actions are completed.<\/li>\n<li>Act as technical consultant, advising on maintenance, operations, control strategies and performance improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Interact with service management, clients, sales teams and technical specialists to identify opportunities and align priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Balance multiple challenges, including shifting priorities, customer expectations, resourcing, progress reporting and continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications for the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong safety and integrity mindset \u2013 essential<\/li>\n<li>Solid application background \u2013 essential<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, industrial networks and cyber security \u2013 essential<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and drive projects to completion \u2013 essential<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn, innovate and take initiative, with flexibility to travel to customer sites \u2013 essential<\/li>\n<li>Practical, hands-on experience and offshore certification \u2013 desirable<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ABB 800xA control systems, process control, loop performance, functional safety and cyber security awareness \u2013 desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ABB offers a full range of benefits to help you thrive at work and beyond.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive salary<\/li>\n<li>25 days annual\u00a0 leave plus bank holidays<\/li>\n<li>Competitive contributory pension scheme<\/li>\n<li>Life assurance<\/li>\n<li>Flexible benefits scheme (Includes options to buy\/sell holidays, health checks, dental, eye care, gym memberships, cycle to work, gadget discounts and more)<\/li>\n<li>Internal mobility opportunities, mentorships &amp; access to projects globally<\/li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Programme<\/li>\n<li>Generous employee referral scheme<\/li>\n<li>Private medical cover<\/li>\n<li>Generous bonus scheme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re looking for a motivated Service professional to help deliver our industry-leading portfolio with the highest standards of safety and quality.
