The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland (Helsinki and Turku are negotiable), and we offer the possibility of hybrid remote work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your role and responsibilities\u202f\u202f <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Plant automation &amp; controls focuses on our power plant automation and controls products. We develop and maintain plant automation and control solutions for today\u00b4s engine power plants, and tomorrow\u2019s technology stack to implement future remote and autonomous operation vision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities\u00a0for the position:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and\u00a0maintain\u00a0IT infrastructure, cyber\u00a0compliance\u00a0and SCADA systems:\u00a0Maintain\u00a0and develop our plant automation along with the associated server infrastructure. This includes Windows- and Linux-based servers administration for the SCADA and historian systems.<\/li>\n<li>Develop\u00a0and implement\u00a0our compliance towards\u00a0out\u00a0cyber security\u00a0targets\u00a0and legislations such as the IEC-62443 and EU CRA<\/li>\n<li>Support projects and integration with PLCs: Support our ongoing projects by ensuring seamless integration between SCADA and PLC-level controls. Provide expert\u00a0assistance\u00a0in project delivery and commissioning phases, collaborating with PLC engineers to\u00a0validate\u00a0data flow and control logic.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to development roadmaps:\u00a0Participate\u00a0in strategy work and development roadmap creation for plant automation infrastructure and SCADA solutions. Help\u00a0identify\u00a0and implement improvements (e.g. virtualization, remote operations) in line with our technology plan.<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder communication and support: Train and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on\u00a0system\u00a0usage and best practices. Participate in customer meetings and sales support as a domain expert for\u00a0plant automation\u00a0topics.<\/li>\n<li>Uphold standards and values: Ensure that our solutions follow W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4\u2019s values, safety standards, and applicable cyber security practices. Drive our W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 values and purpose in daily work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications\/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have (maybe: This is an entry\/mid senior level position, so we would like to see following skills and qualifications):\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Education: Bachelor\u2019s or\u00a0Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Information\u00a0Technology\u00a0or similar field.<\/li>\n<li>Technical experience:\u00a0Any of the following, a combination is preferred:<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Windows Server administration (e.g. 2019\/2022) and basic Linux system administration.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience with industrial SCADA\/HMI systems is highly valued (experience with WOIS\/sWOIS\u00a0or similar SCADA platforms\u00a0\u2013 AVEVA\/Atvise\/Ignition\/WinCC OA or Unified\u00a0is a plus).<\/li>\n<li>Programming and automation: Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash\/Shell, or Python) for automation and tool development are appreciated. Basic understanding of PLC programming or configuration (IEC 61131-3 based languages) and control logic is\u00a0required\u00a0to\u00a0facilitate\u00a0SCADA\u2013PLC integration.<\/li>\n<li>Fluent user of AI-tools\u00a0and models for software development<\/li>\n<li>Networking and cyber security: Familiarity with network configuration and administration (Cisco or Fortinet equipment)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of OT cyber security\u00a0standards\u00a0such as IEC 62443<\/li>\n<li>Experience in generative AI and ability to coordinate AI driven software development<\/li>\n<li>Experience of thermal power plants and\u00a0field work experience is seen as a plus<\/li>\n<li>Soft skills: Open-minded attitude, teamwork capability, and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are\u00a0required\u00a0(other language skills are a plus).
