You will play a key role in shaping some of the most significant infrastructure and development schemes in Ireland and across Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">While the role focuses on geotechnical engineering design and delivery, you will also gain valuable exposure to the full breadth of Ground Engineering disciplines. This position offers a stimulating and supportive environment to advance your technical, business, and people skills, working alongside industry experts and developing relationships with our firm\u2019s wider engineering community. It also offers the opportunity to place sustainability at the heart of engineering solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">As a Geotechnical Engineer at Arup, you will:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Deliver\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthworks on major international commissions (e.g., hyperscale data centres in Europe, the Fehmarnsund Link) and nationally significant Irish infrastructure (e.g., Metrolink, DART+, N6 Galway Ring Road).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Prepare high-quality design reports, technical specifications, desk studies, and site walkovers for educational, pharmaceutical, industrial, and commercial developments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Plan, supervise, and interpret\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>geotechnical ground investigations, providing technical support during the construction phase, including periodic site visits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Incorporate\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>the latest digital tools, automation, and numerical analysis into our projects to enhance project delivery.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Develop\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>your project management and commercial awareness skills, while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues as you strengthen your own leadership capabilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Does this role inspire you?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">We&#8217;re looking for a motivated and ambitious engineer looking to build a strong foundation in geotechnical design. <strong>We also value:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">An honours Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). A post-graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics is an advantage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Over 3 years of post-graduate experience in geotechnical design and\/or construction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Strong technical understanding of the design of deep excavations, deep and shallow foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and soft ground solutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Good planning, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to maintain personal effectiveness across several projects and communicate confidently in both technical and non-technical settings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Experience in planning, managing, supervising, and interpreting ground investigation contracts, and\/or experience in numerical analysis and GIS.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">A commitment to continuous professional development, ideally working towards Chartered status, with the flexibility to travel and work on-site (a full driver\u2019s licence is a strong advantage).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Why Arup?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">At Arup, we believe in rewarding our members for their contributions to our shared success.
