{"id":15481,"date":"2026-04-29T11:35:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T09:35:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/stanowisko\/engineering-ot-technician-apprentice-operational-technology\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T11:36:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T09:36:00","slug":"rwe-engineering-ot-technician-apprentice-operational-technology-didcot-wielka-brytania","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/en\/stanowisko\/rwe-engineering-ot-technician-apprentice-operational-technology-didcot-wielka-brytania\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering OT Technician Apprentice (Operational Technology)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OT Technicians are an essential part of our power generation business, maintaining cyber security at our assets and compliance to our regulators.<\/p>\n<p>During your programme you will practice your skills by working in both the operations and maintenance teams on one of our CCGT power stations, you will put into practice learning in your core subject of<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>Vulnerability management<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Network security<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Control and Instrument Engineering<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Along with many other skills you learn along your journey.<\/p>\n<p>All of our core subjects ensure the RWE fleet maintains high standards of security and compliance, supporting the UK\u2019s energy reliability through careful engineering and maintenance strategies.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to applying your skills in the maintenance team you will spend time developing your knowledge on shift in Power Station Operations, learning the skill sets needed to develop you towards the role of an\u00a0<strong>OT\u00a0<\/strong>or<strong>\u00a0DCS Technician<\/strong>. These include day to day operations, control system maintenance, secure delivery of new projects and commercial decisions, all key elements of the ever-changing world we live in.<\/p>\n<p>Spread over three years your development will include specialist technical and practical skills training in the following areas alongside your specialist area of development.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Behavioural<\/li>\n<li>Health &amp; Safety<\/li>\n<li>Environmental<\/li>\n<li>Team Leading<\/li>\n<li>Commercial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our programme offers a structured combination of academic learning, technical training and practical skills development, supported by experienced engineers, technicians and training specialists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of the 3 year programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 90% of time will be spent with our apprenticeship training provider learning core skills and completing a HNC in engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2 &amp; 3<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 70% of time will be spent on your allocated site applying your new skills, whilst further enhancing your technical knowledge. The remaining time will be spent at an RWE training facility &amp; Specialist providers completing bespoke training courses in areas such as\u00a0<strong>Network Management &amp; Security, Cyber Security Concepts, Treat &amp; Vulnerability Mitigation<\/strong>\u00a0and many more skills.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst away from home location, RWE will provide accommodation, travel and food allowance, ensuring reliable pastoral support throughout.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On completion of your three-year programme you will receive the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Higher National Certificate in Operations Engineering \u2013 General Engineering (HNC) not Operations<\/li>\n<li>Performing Engineering Operations \u2013 BTEC L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Skills)<\/li>\n<li>IOSH Manging Safely<\/li>\n<li>Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist<\/li>\n<li>CompTia Network +, Security +<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Upon completion of your training and with these skills you will be well equipped to apply for and become one of our OT Security Technicians of the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we offer our people<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Opportunity to learn life skills away from the classroom environment. (please note you may apply pending exam results; any offer would be subject to meeting the required grades)<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Motivation to expand and refine your engineering skills and a solid interest in the energy industry<\/li>\n<li>Someone who collaborates well with others and has good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>High travel flexibility<\/li>\n<li>Resourceful and motivated individuals who show initiative and thrive in team-based environments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Our energy for a sustainable life<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RWE has reliably supplied people and companies with electricity for more than 120 years.
