We are looking for a Senior Controls\/SCADA Engineer who will be based in one of our offices in Germany on a hybrid model.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading the Project team on realization of the Project specific requirements with existing functionalities: serve as the Subject Matter Expert regarding Controls, Application modes, Grid integration, as well as all related and relevant systems and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the integration of the Fluence BESS control system into the Transmission System Operator (TSO) EMS systems: lead the development of logic and control schemes for remote and local operation of the BESS to meet TSO requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and guide field engineers to find solutions to problems as they arise during commissioning\/testing\u00a0of a system, in all controls-related subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Involved in the product development engineering of utility scale energy storage solutions, including the development, implementation and testing of controlsapplications.<\/li>\n<li>Develop standardized test procedures and execute tests (FAT \/ SAT) to reduce commissioning time, and perform testing, including involvement in hands on lab testing during evaluations of prototype systems.<\/li>\n<li>Manage interface to Client and sub-contractor to ensure Controls compliance and lead concept during Tender and Project Execution phase.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain documentation of existing Controls infrastructure including hardware, applications, protocols, communication links and system backup and recovery strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Keep current with all Company products, developments, and projects as they apply<\/li>\n<li>to the Controls network at both site and enterprise levels.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain strict management of change control procedures and documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Remain current on industry best practices and updated technology to ensure the<\/li>\n<li>company provides world-class Controls services.<\/li>\n<li>Support company strategy and provide relevant reporting and updates to Company leadership as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and recommend performance management and feedback to current<\/li>\n<li>Controls technical support KPI\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li>Executing tasks related to Fluence\u2019 safety KPIs<\/li>\n<li>Travel throughout EMEA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications and Experiences <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s \/ Master\u2019s degree in computer \/ industrial engineering with focus on automation and controls (or equivalent).<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years of relevant Controls\/Software\/programming experience with a power utility or related industry and with the design, operation and maintenance of a power plant.<\/li>\n<li>Expert in the electricity transmission\/distribution sector and EMS systems: Grid code and requirements analysis, development and testing of algorithms for Grid services applications.<\/li>\n<li>Expert in the following SCADA protocols: IEC60870-5-101\/103\/104, IEC 61850 MMS, DNP3, Modbus &amp; TCP\/IP, PLC, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), SEL Real Time Automation Controller (RTAC), SEL Relays &amp; Meters, Siemens Relays &amp; Meters &amp; SCADA Gateways &amp; Data Concentrators.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Linux based systems and commands, High-level programming languages such as Python and shell\/bash scripting and Github.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with MathWorks Simulink for model-based systems engineering, C\/C++.<\/li>\n<li>Expert on the design, operation and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment including but not limited to inverters, transformers, I\/O racks, telecommunications, and controllers.<\/li>\n<li>Solution-orientated mindset<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in\u00a0<b>English and German<\/b>\u00a0\/ other language skills desired<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description: About Fluence Our mission is to create a more sustainable future by transforming the way we power our world.
