We take pride in our delivery and value people who own their work and push boundaries to achieve excellence for our clients.<\/p>\n<p>You will work within our ports team, and you will be expected to collaborate with peers and early career professionals to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for the marine facilities of new gas or liquid product terminals<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and present technical reports and other technical material to clients and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Lead the structural design delivery of marine jetties for gas and liquid products. Develop and support others to develop engineering calculations (static and dynamic), drawings, and specification documents for jetty and other marine structures<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions which integrate the design of the jetty structures to the topside process and other equipment necessary for the operation and safety of the terminal<\/li>\n<li>Support constructability assessments and the preparation of construction sequences<\/li>\n<li>Lead the preparation of the technical volume of tender documents<\/li>\n<li>Review and approve contractor designs to ensure quality and adherence to project performance specifications and other requirements<\/li>\n<li>Support early career professionals in the development of skills associated with the design of gas and liquid products terminals<\/li>\n<li>Participate and represent Mott MacDonald in industry events and technical fora<\/li>\n<li>Support the team in business development and client engagement activities when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Candidate specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You will also be able to demonstrate the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in Civil\/ Structural Engineering (or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>Chartered or near chartership with a relevant professional institution (or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver complex projects from concept through execution within set deadlines and budget constraints<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in undertaking structural design calculations for jetty structures, and leading others in the delivery of the same. Strong knowledge in the application of relevant design standards and guidelines (API, AISC, OCIMF, BS 6349, Eurocode, PIANC to name a few)<\/li>\n<li>Experience and proficiency in the use of structural design software and familiarity around its integration with CAD software<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, team working, excellent problem-solving skills and the drive to innovate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview of the role We are looking to appoint a Principal Ports Engineer with gas and liquid products experience who will join our growing Ports Team.
