This newly formed, externally facing business is designed to align closely with our clients’ evolving needs, while creating fresh opportunities for our people to grow, develop, and thrive as part of a collaborative and innovative practice.In Asset Management, we help our road, rail, and transportation customers to get the most out of their built infrastructure assets. We provide the information they need to make key plans and decisions about the future, such as when to invest in their assets and what maintenance activities to prioritise.Asset management is one of Atkins priorities for growth, and we are seeking a Structures Asset Management Engineer to support our existing portfolio of projects and provide capacity to grow the business and support future opportunities. The person we’re seeking to employ will enjoy contributing across a portfolio of consultancy projects and will thrive in a busy, innovative and challenging environment. You’ll be technically excellent, whatever your level of experience and will be equally happy presenting to a client or developing technical details back at the office. The role will involve providing strategic direction to clients in defining and implementing their asset management policies, to using data and analysis tools to develop works programmes at the tactical level. The focus of the role will be project delivery, with some support activities including project bidding. In addition, there will be opportunities to manage your own projects as part of your role. We also advise clients on the implementation of national guidance and best practice, such as the uptake of risk\u2011based approaches to asset management. This often involves working closely with clients to understand their needs and aspirations, followed by developing and implementing improvement or transformation plans. The projects we work on are varied, dynamic and stimulating, providing plenty of opportunity for new challenges and personal growth.<\/p>\n

Your role<\/strong><\/p>\n
    \n
  • Carry out condition inspections on structural assets using Bridge Condition Indicators.<\/li>\n
  • Working on innovative projects to assess material performance and degradation in structures.<\/li>\n
  • Using and developing materials deterioration curves as part of whole\u2011life asset management .<\/li>\n
  • Applying analytical mathematics (essential), and coding and programming skills (desirable) to analyse data from our clients, draw conclusions and provide advice.<\/li>\n
  • Providing support in the development of asset management approaches for structures.<\/li>\n
  • Building knowledge and experience in using DMRB standards relating to structural assets .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    About you<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in the field of structures asset management.<\/li>\n
    • UK knowledge and experience of working for a consultant or contractor.<\/li>\n
    • Appreciating organisational drivers as well as those of individual stakeholders Awareness ofI SO 55001.<\/li>\n
    • Experience and understanding of asset modelling.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work in a client facing environment, with good communication skills.<\/li>\n
    • An excellent report writing ability.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.<\/li>\n
