Make your mark as an Azure Solution Architect at Boskalis!<\/p>\n

As the\u00a0Azure Solution Architect for Data and AI, you are responsible for architecting, designing, and overseeing initiatives within the\u00a0IT Data Services team, which consists of three sub-teams:\u00a0Data Engineering,\u00a0Business Intelligence, and\u00a0AI.<\/p>\n

You act as a key liaison between IT Data Services and other operational IT teams, including\u00a0Infrastructure Platform Operations\u00a0and\u00a0Cyber Risk Management, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.<\/p>\n

The mission of IT Data Services is to maximize the value of data and AI across Boskalis. We are building a robust data platform based on data products and data pipelines, supported by modern Azure landing zone principles. On this foundation, we develop BI and AI solutions using\u00a0Power BI,\u00a0Microsoft Fabric,\u00a0Azure Databricks, a proprietary\u00a0Boskalis AI chatbot, and an\u00a0Azure Digital Twin\u00a0solution for real-time project monitoring, simulations, and intelligent automation.<\/p>\n

Your responsibilities as Azure Solution Architect<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Design, own, and evolve the end-to-end Azure architecture for data, BI, and AI platforms.<\/li>\n
  • Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with Azure landing zone principles.<\/li>\n
  • Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and future-proof solution architectures.<\/li>\n
  • Guide and review solution designs from data engineers, BI developers, and AI engineers.<\/li>\n
  • Architect and oversee:\n
      \n
    • Data platforms and pipelines (e.g. lakehouse, streaming, batch processing).<\/li>\n
    • BI architectures using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.<\/li>\n
    • AI solutions using Azure Databricks and MLOps practices.<\/li>\n
    • Azure Digital Twin solutions integrated with simulation software and real-time events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Ensure solutions comply with security, privacy, and governance requirements in close cooperation with Cyber Risk Management.<\/li>\n
    • Collaborate with Infrastructure Platform Operations on networking, identity, connectivity, and platform services.<\/li>\n
    • Support teams with architectural decision-making during implementation and delivery.<\/li>\n
    • Stay up to date with Azure, data, BI, and AI developments, and actively introduce innovations where valuable.<\/li>\n
    • Contribute to roadmap development for the Data & AI platform at Boskalis.<\/li>\n
    • Act as a technical sparring partner for stakeholders across IT and the business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Your qualities and experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

      You can move ahead as an Azure Solution Architect if you have:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • At least 2,5 years of relevant work experience.<\/li>\n
      • Proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments.<\/li>\n
      • Strong hands-on and architectural experience with Microsoft Azure, including:\n
          \n
        • Azure Data services (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Microsoft Fabric).<\/li>\n
        • Azure Databricks.<\/li>\n
        • Azure AI services.<\/li>\n
        • Azure networking, identity (Entra ID), and security concepts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Solid understanding of data engineering, BI, and AI\/ML architectures.<\/li>\n
        • Experience designing data platforms based on data products and domain-oriented approaches is a plus.<\/li>\n
        • Familiarity with Power BI and transition paths to Microsoft Fabric.<\/li>\n
        • Experience with Digital Twin, simulation, or event-driven architectures is an advantage.<\/li>\n
        • Knowledge of DevOps \/ DataOps \/ MLOps practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              • Your team:\u00a0You will work within the IT Data Services team together with 16 colleagues working in the data, BI, and AI teams. You will report to the Manager IT Data Services.<\/li>\n
              • Where you will work:\u00a0For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office.<\/li>\n
              • Full\/part-time job:\u00a0The position of Azure Solution Architect is a full-time job (40 hours a week).<\/li>\n
