The role will involve supporting the civil design and delivery of substations, cable routes and associated infrastructure, providing civil engineering design to support renewable energy infrastructure, including offshore &amp; onshore wind, BESS, Solar and electricity networks. Working as part of multi\u2011disciplinary project teams from early feasibility and route optioneering through to detailed design and delivery. The successful candidate will work within a well\u2011established and experienced group, benefiting from strong technical support and exposure to a broad range of civil engineering activities associated with T&amp;D and renewable energy projects. This is a permanent position within the Energy team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">As a Civil Infrastructure Engineer at Arup, you will:<\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Deliver elements of civil infrastructure design for electricity transmission and distribution projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Contribute to the development of underground cable routing, corridor studies and alignment design.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Support the civil design of substations, including site layout design, earthworks, drainage, access arrangements, hardstandings and structural interfaces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Support civil engineering design for renewable energy electrical infrastructure, including grid connections and onshore works associated with offshore wind projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Understand the appointed design scope, identify associated deliverables and define the workflow required to complete assigned elements of work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Work within a multi\u2011disciplinary design team, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, environmental and planning specialists to deliver integrated design solutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Produce civil design outputs including drawings, reports, specifications and design calculations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Support delivery of assigned work packages to agreed programme, quality and budget targets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Plan and manage assigned workload, ensuring appropriate quality assurance and coordination within the design team.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Ensure all designs are completed in accordance with relevant standards, specifications, safety requirements and client procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Does this role inspire you?<\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">We are looking for a proactive engineer with a strong interest in civil infrastructure delivery within the electricity and renewable energy sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">The ideal candidate will have:<\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">A relevant third\u2011level Degree (Level 8 or higher) in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Circa 3\u20135 years\u2019 post\u2011qualification experience, primarily in civil design, gained within a consultancy or comparable engineering environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Membership of a relevant professional body.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Experience in civil infrastructure design, ideally related to electricity transmission and\/or distribution, grid connections or comparable linear infrastructure schemes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Experience working with\/interfacing with Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and\/or Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), including familiarity with their standards, specifications and approval processes, would be an advantage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Experience or exposure to underground utilities and cable infrastructure, including trenching, ducting, protection systems and reinstatement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Experience in site development and layout design, including earthworks, drainage, access roads and hardstandings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Familiarity with industry software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD and\/or Revit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Experience working within multi\u2011disciplinary design teams and coordinated BIM environments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Strong analytical and problem\u2011solving skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit;
