You will have a blend of survey (condition survey, PPM, pre-acquisition) and contract administration experience. A strong understanding of construction technology is required and experience in undertaking quality monitoring of construction works would be preferable. The Associate Building Surveyor (ABS) will be responsible for the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Project work<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the interface for projects between the client, other designers and the contractor to support the successful conclusion of project work.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect existing properties and develop scope, budget costs and programmes for implementation of proposed project work.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise regularly with the client to understand fully their requirements and the underlying project drivers; keep them regularly appraised of project activities.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance on the most effective procurement approach to achieve project deliverables.<\/li>\n<li>Management of appropriate design, programme and cost information as the project developed to support decision making by the client.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure appropriate communication channels are in place to support effective project delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Develop tender documentation and specifications using NBS.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and co-ordinate the tender process, analyse tender returns and prepare tender reports including recommendations for contractor appointment.<\/li>\n<li>Chair and minute project meetings; act as Contract Administrator and process all required project notices and correspondence.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the quality of works on site and ensure fully compliance by the contractor with the terms of the contract and related drawings and specification.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure others meet their obligations\/responsibilities under their appointments and appropriate H&amp;S legislation.<\/li>\n<li>At all times to act on behalf of Egis in a professional manner and ensure the company values are maintained and promoted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2) Survey work<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undertake various types of survey work, including: dilapidation, PPM, condition, schedule of condition, pre-acquisition.<\/li>\n<li>Provide clear and concise reports and advise the client throughout the process to achieve their aims, all within the legal constraints applicable to the survey task.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and prepare reports for the projects you are responsible for.<\/li>\n<li>Provide cost advice to clients when needed for both project work and within relevant reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3) General duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overseeing\/reviewing\/approving the work of sub-consultants or junior members of staff in a positive and constructive manner, as may be required for the delivery of project appointments.<\/li>\n<li>Generally representing Egis in a professionally competent and positive manner, ensuring service quality and integrity is maintained to the highest possible standards.<\/li>\n<li>Reporting to the client and other stakeholders in line with the client\u2019s requirement with company standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4) Delivering great client experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ABS will build strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants and contractors, based on mutual respect, trust and integrity. In this context, the role will involve:<\/li>\n<li>Representing Egis at project meetings with clients, designers and contractors to provide advice on all aspects of project assignments and following up on actions assigned to T&amp;A at all such meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Communicating clearly, concisely and coherently with the client and other consultants regarding information required for the purpose of performing our services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jobad-qualifications\"><strong>What do we need from you<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>You\u00a0are\u00a0a\u00a0Chartered\u00a0Building\u00a0Surveyor\u00a0(or close to completing your APC)<\/li>\n<li>Able\u00a0to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0awareness\u00a0of\u00a0current\u00a0legislation\u00a0relating\u00a0to\u00a0Health\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Safety\u00a0and\u00a0Building\u00a0Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Able\u00a0to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0Contract\u00a0Administration\u00a0and\u00a0Project\u00a0Management\u00a0skills\u00a0across\u00a0a\u00a0range\u00a0of\u00a0projects\u00a0and\u00a0successful\u00a0delivery\u00a0of\u00a0them.<\/li>\n<li>Required\u00a0to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0an\u00a0involvement\u00a0and\u00a0awareness\u00a0of\u00a0Dilapidations,\u00a0Due\u00a0Diligence\u00a0Survey\u00a0Work, Schedules\u00a0of\u00a0Condition\u00a0and\u00a0Planned\u00a0Maintenance\u00a0Inspections.<\/li>\n<li>Have\u00a0an\u00a0interest\u00a0in\u00a0construction\u00a0technology\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0interplay\u00a0between\u00a0the\u00a0construction\u00a0process\u00a0and\u00a0building\u00a0defects.<\/li>\n<li>Be\u00a0proficient\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0use\u00a0of\u00a0CAD\u00a0with\u00a0a\u00a0working\u00a0knowledge\u00a0of\u00a0building\u00a0standards\u00a0and\u00a0related\u00a0processes.<\/li>\n<li>Able\u00a0to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0your\u00a0involvement\u00a0with\u00a0several\u00a0clients\u00a0and\u00a0that\u00a0you\u00a0have\u00a0been\u00a0able\u00a0to\u00a0establish\u00a0good\u00a0working\u00a0relationships\u00a0with\u00a0them.<\/li>\n<li>Good understand of monthly fees and pipeline.<\/li>\n<li>Able\u00a0to\u00a0prioritise\u00a0and\u00a0co-ordinate\u00a0tasks\u00a0efficiently\u00a0ensuring\u00a0all\u00a0deadlines\u00a0are\u00a0met.<\/li>\n<li>Accurate\u00a0and\u00a0excellent\u00a0attention\u00a0to\u00a0detail.<\/li>\n<li>Pro-active\u00a0and\u00a0enjoys\u00a0working\u00a0autonomously\u00a0and\u00a0as\u00a0part\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0wider\u00a0team.<\/li>\n<li>Confident\u00a0and\u00a0assertive\u00a0where\u00a0required.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible\u00a0approach\u00a0to\u00a0work.<\/li>\n<li>Good\u00a0role\u00a0model\u00a0for\u00a0junior\u00a0members\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0team.<\/li>\n<li>Understands\u00a0and\u00a0appreciates\u00a0the\u00a0importance\u00a0of\u00a0using\u00a0discretion.<\/li>\n<li>A team\u00a0player\u00a0who\u00a0deals\u00a0effectively\u00a0with\u00a0colleagues\u00a0and\u00a0clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You will join our existing team of Building Surveyors and be provided with opportunities to work on projects in both the public and private sectors.
