We are a dynamic team looking to grow and support the Water Teams across our UK offices.<\/p>\n<p><em>Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll do:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves as the\u00a0<strong>principal technical advisor and subject matter expert<\/strong>\u00a0for wastewater system modeling and analysis, providing guidance to project teams and junior staff.<\/li>\n<li>Provides\u00a0<strong>specialised technical input<\/strong>\u00a0to planning studies, alternatives analyses, and design related to wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment, and wet weather system performance.<\/li>\n<li>Develops, maintains, and standardizes\u00a0<strong>wastewater modeling methodologies, procedures, and best practices<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure high-quality, defensible, and cost-effective technical work.<\/li>\n<li>Leads and participates in\u00a0<strong>interdisciplinary reviews<\/strong>\u00a0of planning, modeling, and design deliverables to ensure consistency between hydraulic modeling, process design, and overall project objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Develops and reviews\u00a0<strong>planning-level and design-level cost estimates<\/strong>\u00a0, including capital improvement costs and level-of-effort estimates for modeling and technical analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Applies expert knowledge across\u00a0<strong>all phases of wastewater modeling contributions<\/strong>\u00a0to PS&amp;E packages, including flow development, model calibration, capacity analysis, and support of design criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Performs\u00a0<strong>quality control and peer review<\/strong>\u00a0of hydraulic and process model setups, assumptions, calculations, and technical documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and reviews\u00a0<strong>technical memoranda, modeling reports, and specification sections<\/strong>\u00a0related to wastewater modeling, data requirements, and performance criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Provides technical input to the development of\u00a0<strong>engineering budgets, schedules, and work plans<\/strong>\u00a0, ensuring modeling tasks are appropriately scoped and aligned with regulatory and project requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 700 experts across the UK &amp; Ireland, including 60 team members that sit in Edinburgh that you\u2019d work directly with.Collaborate with top-tier engineers and consultants to deliver a variety of captivating projects, from small initiatives to large-scale ventures, all the way from concept to completion.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, we want to hear from you! We recognise that everyone\u2019s circumstances are different, so we\u2019re more than happy to discuss part-time or flexible working arrangements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ready to push the limits of what\u2019s possible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Here\u2019s what we\u2019re looking for:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, GIS, Geography, or similar subject.<\/li>\n<li>Chartered member or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEM.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive experience in\u00a0<strong>wastewater modeling.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Strong proficiency in\u00a0<strong>GIS and data analysis<\/strong>\u00a0to support wastewater modeling, particularly using\u00a0<strong>ArcGIS<\/strong>\u00a0for network development, spatial data management, and results visualization.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of\u00a0<strong>wastewater hydrology and hydraulics<\/strong>\u00a0, including dry weather flow, wet weather flow, infiltration and inflow (I\/I), and climate change impacts, within the UK and international regulatory contexts.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience with\u00a0<strong>wastewater and integrated urban drainage modeling platforms<\/strong>\u00a0, such as\u00a0<strong>Innovyze InfoWorks ICM (wastewater modules)<\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0<strong>InfoWorks WS Pro<\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0<strong>SWMM<\/strong>\u00a0, or equivalent tools used for sewer system and integrated catchment modeling.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience acting as\u00a0<strong>technical lead for wastewater modeling projects<\/strong>\u00a0, responsible for model strategy, quality assurance, client interface, and mentoring junior modelers.<\/li>\n<li>Strong background in\u00a0<strong>water and wastewater consultancy<\/strong>\u00a0, delivering planning, regulatory, and capital improvement projects for utilities and public-sector clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to support a talented, diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency.
