This is a consultancy based position so you will need experience within this kind of design and client focused environment.<\/p>\n<p>Your role will require you to design, calculate and propose fire safety solutions to clients on small and large scale projects whilst acting as a key point of contact and expertise. You will also be involved in surveys, reports and the day to day project management of our secured programmes.<\/p>\n<p>This vacancy will be well suited for an established consultant looking to take the next step or someone with a strong depth of knowledge who wants to join a well respected and established fire safety consultancy.<\/p>\n<p>AECOM Building &amp; Places is built to modernise, expand and deliver the most iconic and complex structures ever conceived. We work flexibly and co- operatively to achieve more.<\/p>\n<p>Your key duties are outlined below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare design packages for various RIBA stages, including Design drawings, Technical specifications, Design reports and Hydraulic calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Fire Suppression Systems solutions for various building and industrial applications, types and at various stages of project design.<\/li>\n<li>Perform calculations as assigned such as sprinkler system water supplies and gas suppression clean agent quantities.<\/li>\n<li>Lead remote project delivery teams<\/li>\n<li>Prepare fee proposals for the Fire systems design at RIBA Stages 1-7.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Technical reviews.<\/li>\n<li>Assist technically in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively communicate with project team members, Clients, local approving authorities, contractors and other third parties as required.<\/li>\n<li>Project Manage the delivery of various scale projects small and large.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minimum Requirements :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess intermediate-level written and oral communication skills. Strong quantitative<\/li>\n<li>and analytical skills.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant degree or professional qualification.<\/li>\n<li>Work experience within a similar consultancy<\/li>\n<li>or other relevant business.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of British and International<\/li>\n<li>design standards and Building regulations is essential.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience of Fire Suppression Systems such as: Automatic<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkler Systems (Wet, Dry, Pre-action, Foam etc.), Water Mist Systems, Gaseous Suppression Systems, Wet and Dry Rise Systems, Fire Hydrant and Hose Reel Systems, Hypoxic (Oxygen Reduction) Systems.<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of software packages for Fire Suppression Systems design (Word; Excel: CAD; REVIT; Hydraulics software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant degree or professional qualification (BEng, MEng, PHD).<\/li>\n<li>Registered with Engineering Council (CEng;IEng) or working towards achieving it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AECOM is currently seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer specialised in Fire Fighting Systems design to be based in our St. Albans, London Aldgate, Manchester or Croydon office.
