In this role, you will be responsible for delivering bank\u2011grade energy yield estimates, driving methodological improvement, and providing strategic technical input throughout the project lifecycle\u2014from early-stage prospecting through financial close and operational optimisation.<\/p>\n<p>You will act as a subject\u2011matter expert, collaborating closely with development, engineering, commercial, and finance teams to ensure robust and defensible yield assumptions that underpin our investment and development decisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Energy Yield &amp; Resource Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the development of long-term energy yield assessments (P50\/P90\/P99) for onshore and offshore wind projects.<\/li>\n<li>Perform wind resource modelling using industry-standard software (e.g., WAsP, WindFarmer, OpenWind, WindPRO).<\/li>\n<li>Oversee met mast, LiDAR, SoDAR, and SCADA data analysis, ensuring rigorous quality control and uncertainty quantification.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct terrain, atmospheric, wake, and turbine performance assessments to refine energy yield calculations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Data Management &amp; Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage large datasets from measurement campaigns and operational assets.<\/li>\n<li>Implement best\u2011practice statistical analysis, MCP techniques, uncertainty analysis, and climate adjustment methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Support the design and optimisation of measurement campaigns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project Development Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical input into site selection, turbine micro\u2011siting, layout optimisation, and design constraints.<\/li>\n<li>Produce high\u2011quality reporting for due diligence, investment committees, lenders, and external partners.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate turbine technologies, power curves, and OEM data to ensure accurate modelling assumptions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Leadership &amp; Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mentor junior analysts and contribute to capability building within the team.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure methodological consistency and lead the continuous improvement of internal tools, workflows, and modelling practices.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the company in technical discussions with developers, OEMs, consultants, financiers, and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cross\u2011Functional Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with development, engineering, environmental, and commercial teams to align yield assumptions with broader project strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Provide ongoing assessment of risks and opportunities that influence project economics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical and project management skills through your project work, with great prospects for career progression as the team continues to grow.<\/p>\n<p>And let&#8217;s not forget about the perks at AECOM. Take advantage of career development opportunities, our flexible hybrid working model to ensure a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle, technical practice networks, AECOM University, and volunteering days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ready to push the limits of what\u2019s possible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what we\u2019re looking for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Renewable Energy, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in wind energy yield assessment (onshore, offshore, or both).<\/li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in resource modelling tools (WAsP, WindFarmer, OpenWind, WindPRO, CFD tools).<\/li>\n<li>Strong statistical analysis skills and deep familiarity with MCP methods and uncertainty frameworks.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with met mast and LiDAR data analysis, campaign design, and validation.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent understanding of turbine technologies, wake effects, and performance analytics.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings for non\u2011technical stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Experience producing bankable reports for lenders, investors, or due diligence processes.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with offshore wind\u2013specific modelling (incl. complex wake environments, floating LiDAR).<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, R, or similar data analytics languages for workflow automation.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with operational performance analysis and SCADA\u2011based energy assessments.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ESG or grid integration considerations for wind assets.<\/li>\n<li>Experience carrying out solar energy yield asessments<\/li>\n<li>Analytical and detail\u2011oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in cross\u2011functional teams.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are seeking a highly skilled\u00a0Senior or Principal Wind Energy Yield Analyst\u00a0to lead energy assessment activities across our onshore and\/or offshore wind portfolio.
