The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to developing talent and rewarding performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Opportunity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a Commercial Lead to drive the commercial performance of our Power &amp; Renewables Business Unit across the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>This is a senior leadership role where you will take ownership of all commercial activities, from early-stage opportunity assessment and tendering through to project delivery and final account, ensuring risk is managed, value is maximised, and commercial strategy aligns with business growth objectives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Commercial Lead, you will provide strategic commercial leadership across a growing portfolio of power and renewable projects, ensuring strong governance, robust contract management, and high-performing project delivery.<\/p>\n<p>You will work closely with the Commercial Director, Business Unit leadership, and cross-functional teams to protect the company\u2019s position, strengthen client relationships, and support continued expansion in the Power &amp; Renewables sector<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Commercial Leadership &amp; Business Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and coordinate all commercial activities across the Power &amp; Renewables Business Unit<\/li>\n<li>Drive revenue, margin, and cashflow performance through effective reporting and cost management<\/li>\n<li>Establish and implement optimal commercial structures aligned with Business Unit and Group strategy<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen commercial capability and awareness across the wider team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tendering, Contracts &amp; Negotiation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead commercial input across tendering, bid strategy, and project selection<\/li>\n<li>Drive commercial negotiations through bid stage, contract signing, and project delivery<\/li>\n<li>Interpret contractual obligations, ensuring compliance and protecting the business position<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate and mitigate commercial, financial, and programme risks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project Delivery &amp; Controls<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support full project lifecycle delivery, from tender through to final account<\/li>\n<li>Oversee cost control, reporting, and commercial governance across projects<\/li>\n<li>Audit live projects to ensure accuracy, compliance, and performance improvement<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Planning, and QS teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Risk &amp; Governance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk across the Business Unit<\/li>\n<li>Implement mitigation strategies and escalate key issues with clear recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to company policies, QA processes, and commercial frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate records and robust audit trails to support decision-making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Client &amp; Growth Focus<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the commercial management of key client relationships and framework agreements<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to strategic growth of the Power &amp; Renewables portfolio in the UK &amp; Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Work with leadership to shape long-term commercial and market strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Team Leadership &amp; Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Unit commercial team<\/li>\n<li>Promote a high-performance culture and continuous improvement<\/li>\n<li>Support structured training and development programmes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supply Chain &amp; Process Excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage subcontractor and vendor commercial terms, obligations, and payments<\/li>\n<li>Implement lean process improvements and continuous optimisation<\/li>\n<li>Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely commercial reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related commercial \/ engineering discipline<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in a senior commercial or QS leadership role within engineering or construction<\/li>\n<li>Strong background in power, energy, or infrastructure projects (renewables preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated expertise in contracts, commercial strategy, and risk management<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Commercially driven with a strong analytical and process-oriented mindset<\/li>\n<li>Availability to travel to offices and sites regularly in Ireland &amp; the UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Permanent position available with a considerable portfolio of works for the next 5+ years To build your career by assisting in the delivery of \u2018leading edge\u2019 engineering projects.
