This role would sit within the HVDC Engineering Team, and although direct HVDC experience would be desirable, it is not essential. You will take ownership of all design interfaces across your assigned project or package, typically valued between \u00a3700M and \u00a32000M, working closely with the Project Engineering Manager to drive delivery of the HVDC Engineering scope.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage candidates with a strong multi-disciplinary engineering\/project management experience in either construction, consultancy, or client organisations within the Energy Industry to apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and manage Engineering Interface and Quality risks across all design interfaces, working with Project Engineering Managers, Project Managers and the Project Director to address issues proactively and protect project quality and programme delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the management of all interfaces across the multi-contract delivery strategy, including HVDC, AC, Civils and Cables, owning and enforcing the Design Interface Process and Specifications to ensure alignment, continuity and timely resolution of conflicts, gaps and ambiguities.<\/li>\n<li>Drive the accurate and timely exchange of design information between interfacing projects and contracts, maintaining the Design Interface Register as a live tracking tool and reporting interface risk and progress to senior stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure technical requirements are clearly communicated to project teams, champion Safety in Design and CDM compliance, and review construction methods, commissioning and operational safety requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Provide direct line management to project interface engineers, coordinate all engineering activities, and oversee the selection and technical direction of engineering consultants and contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Lead a culture of continuous improvement across the engineering interface function, identifying inefficiencies, implementing better processes and tools, and sharing lessons learned to raise standards across the programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You have<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng) coupled with significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing design interfaces as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering project.<\/li>\n<li>Good technical knowledge of the Transmission network, with technical understanding of core elements, and a high-level technical understanding of facilitating functions and an understanding of legal and regulatory obligations for Transmission.<\/li>\n<li>Good technical knowledge of relevant legislation and the implications for Transmission network management for both Assets and Projects, including CDM and ESQCR.<\/li>\n<li>Good relationships and understanding of consultants and external industry experts, and the ability to communicate and challenge complex technical issues and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision-making by senior management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Our Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>34 days of annual leave with the option to purchase up to 10 days holiday<\/li>\n<li>24\/7 free and confidential employee counselling service<\/li>\n<li>Sharesave Scheme<\/li>\n<li>Private healthcare discounts<\/li>\n<li>Subsidised gym memberships<\/li>\n<li>Generous family entitlements including adoption leave, paternity leave and gradual return to work for new parents<\/li>\n<li>Flexible working opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Interest-free loans on tech and transport season tickets<\/li>\n<li>And much more\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Base Location:\u00a0For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you&#8217;ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9475,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_promoted":"","_rate_min":"","_rate_max":"","_company_name":"SSE","_job_zagraniczne":"1","_company_website":"","_company_video":"","_remote_position":0,"_hide_expiration":"0","_job_salary":"","_job_salary_currency":"","_job_salary_unit":""},"job-categories":[35],"job-types":[2],"job_listing_tag":[],"class_list":["post-20981","job_listing","type-job_listing","status-publish","hentry","job_listing_category-energetyka","job_listing_type-umowa-o-prace","work-model-praca-hybrydowa","job-level-manager","job-type-umowa-o-prace"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v25.5 (Yoast SEO v25.5) -
