This is an exciting opportunity to influence decision-making, build strong relationships across the business, and make a visible impact on safety performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you&#8217;ll be doing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As an Occupational Safety Advisor, you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with other Occupational Safety Advisors, Regional Managers and Site Managers to drive a strong safety culture, ensuring consistency, collaboration and the sharing of best practice across the business.<\/li>\n<li>Support the delivery of the SSE Safety Family Programme, helping embed safety excellence through clear communication, coaching and engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Build strong and respectful relationships with operational teams and Preferred\/Strategic Contractors, strengthening our collective approach to safety.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical safety support following serious incidents, dangerous occurrences and high-potential near misses, ensuring lessons learned are shared and embedded<\/li>\n<li>Challenge unsafe behaviours, influence positive change and support incident reporting, escalation and governance processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we&#8217;re looking for<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re interested in people who combine strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and influencing skills.<\/p>\n<p>You have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A recognised Occupational Safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent experience and expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of design, planning, construction, maintenance and operational practices gained within engineering, infrastructure, utilities, industrial or related environments.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working within safety management systems in an asset-intensive engineering or infrastructure environment.<\/li>\n<li>Training and practical experience in incident investigation, with the ability to identify root causes and drive meaningful improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, together with the confidence to challenge behaviours and influence positive change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Base Location:\u00a0West London, Slough, Reading (Theale), Thatcham, Oxford, Swindon, Melksham, Andover, Basingstoke Salary:\u00a0\u00a351,600 &#8211;
