You will be responsible for system architecture development, subsystem design, component specification, equipment selection and integration to deliver a fully verified and operational solution.<\/p>\n<p>Working closely with other C&amp;I teams, Security specialists, Corporate IT and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will apply structured systems engineering methodologies to develop secure, reliable and resilient ICT systems that support power station operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019ll Need You To:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the design and development of Communication and Information Systems across the SMR programme<\/li>\n<li>Develop system architectures, including network architectures and supporting infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Deliver telephony, radio, broadcast communication and operational data network solutions<\/li>\n<li>Define system requirements, specifications and implementation strategies<\/li>\n<li>Support selection, specification and integration of ICT equipment and technologies<\/li>\n<li>Ensure systems are secure, resilient and compliant with applicable requirements<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Security, Corporate IT and engineering teams across the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain standards, reference architectures and supporting documentation<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support to programme delivery teams and suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Manage technical interfaces with stakeholders and delivery partners<\/li>\n<li>Act as a responsible designer and intelligent customer where appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Coach and mentor less experienced engineers<\/li>\n<li>Support technical reviews and provide clear recommendations to both technical and non\u2011technical stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Skills Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We know there\u2019s no such thing as the \u2018perfect\u2019 candidate. If you meet around 75% of the criteria below, we\u2019d love to hear from you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience across the design and implementation lifecycle of communication and information systems<\/li>\n<li>Experience within highly regulated, safety\u2011critical or security\u2011sensitive industries such as Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace or Critical National Infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of voice and telephony systems, including traditional and unified communications platforms<\/li>\n<li>Experience with radio communication systems and broadcast communication solutions<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of operational and enterprise data networking technologies<\/li>\n<li>Experience with LAN, WAN, Wi\u2011Fi, SD\u2011WAN, SDN and data centre networking<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of network security principles and network\u2011centric security architectures<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of remote access and connectivity technologies<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing resilient and fault\u2011tolerant systems<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of cybersecurity and industrial communication standards, including IEC 62443<\/li>\n<li>Strong stakeholder management and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and non\u2011technical audiences<\/li>\n<li>Experience providing technical oversight and acting as an intelligent customer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience with the following technologies would be advantageous:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TETRA, DMR, P25 or LTE\/MCX communication systems<\/li>\n<li>Cisco, Siemens, Mitel, Motorola, Fortinet or similar technology platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree\u2011qualified in an Engineering or related technical discipline<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with IEC 62443 and secure system design principles<\/li>\n<li>Equivalent knowledge and experience will also be considered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hybrid working with one of the following as your primary site:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Derby, Manchester or Warrington.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary and Package:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The salary band for this role will be between <strong>\u00a350,650 \u2013 \u00a366,500<\/strong> dependent on the skills, values and knowledge you bring.
