Applying structured systems engineering methodologies, you will support key engineering decisions and ensure designs meet functional, operational and nuclear safety requirements.<\/p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to work on safety\u2011critical systems at the heart of a ground\u2011breaking nuclear power station design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019ll Need You To:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Translate high\u2011level plant requirements into detailed C&amp;I system specifications<\/li>\n<li>Work with Process, Mechanical and Systems Engineers to develop integrated solutions<\/li>\n<li>Assess and substantiate designs against system requirements<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards<\/li>\n<li>Produce verification and validation plans, test strategies and evidence packages<\/li>\n<li>Support the development and implementation of lifecycle policies and procedures for C&amp;I systems<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to procurement, operations and maintenance considerations throughout design development<\/li>\n<li>Support safety case production and engagement with regulators and independent assessors<\/li>\n<li>Manage technical interfaces across engineering disciplines and suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Act as a responsible designer and intelligent customer where appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Support and mentor less experienced engineers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Skills Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We know there\u2019s no such thing as the \u2018perfect\u2019 candidate. If you meet around 75% of the criteria below, we\u2019d love to hear from you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience delivering C&amp;I systems across the design and implementation lifecycle<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of safety\u2011critical or highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Automotive or Oil &amp; Gas<\/li>\n<li>Experience with systems engineering methodologies, requirements management and systems integration<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of safety assessments and assurance activities<\/li>\n<li>Experience with protection systems, hardwired safety systems or programmable safety systems<\/li>\n<li>Experience in industrial process control systems and automation<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of instrumentation systems and associated equipment<\/li>\n<li>Experience with DCS, SCADA, PLC or FPGA\u2011based systems<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of C&amp;I panels, junction boxes, cabling systems, installation and commissioning activities<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of environmental qualification requirements such as EMI\/RFI, DSEAR or ATEX<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61226 and IEC 61513<\/li>\n<li>Ability to provide technical oversight and make sound engineering judgements<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree\u2011qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Mechatronics or a related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Equivalent experience will also be considered<\/li>\n<li>Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartered status, is desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hybrid working with one of the following as your primary site:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Derby, Manchester or Warrington.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary and Package:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The salary band for this role will be between <strong>\u00a350,650 \u2013 \u00a366,500<\/strong> dependent on the skills, values and knowledge you bring.
